Ms Morgan and her character Lara Bradley ARE INVOLVED!
She recently appeared with "Alan Bradley" at an "Encom" viral marketing "press conference". That isn't a guarantee she's in the film, but her character is still in the setting and she's involved at least with the marketing campaign.

It's been mentioned in the general section, but on Saturday April 24th both Cindy & Bruce will be appearing at the Dallas Sci-Fi Expo. More info is here:

Also, if it hasn't been posted already here's a nifty fan recorded video of the Encom Press conference from a different angle/perspective:

These 2 seriously (fast forward to about 7:03) still have some wonderful chemistry together. |

To which Cindy always likes to use the quote from Mark Twain, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated." And, "It's Sci-Fi anything can happen."
As the IO9 article reported there's still always a chance they will include Cindy in at least a cameo in TRON Legacy.
For those of you in the Dallas area who are die hard TRON fans (isn't that everyone on TRON Sector) both CINDY & BRUCE will be appearing TOGETHER this Saturday at the Dallas Sci-Fi EXPO!

On a random note have you seen Jay West's COMPLETE Encom Press Conference video? It's AMAZING how great editing and additional footage can make the PERFECT narrative:

Since principal photography is done already, if she isn't in it by now, it's unlikely she will have more than a cameo if they decide to put her in later. The most they could do is give her lines to read. Another cameo possibility is for a CG version of her younger self to pop in somewhere. In the meantime, I'm glad she's part of the viral campaign. It's always good to see her again.
And I guess there's still a lot of people who consider TRON 2.0 part of the movie canon, and even though it's not, I wouldn't be surprised if the game gets a nod or two.

Since Tron: Evolution occurs during the time between and Tron Legacy, we'll probably get a nice story about where she has been and what she's up to. In the film sequel(s), I hope she doesn't end up in the computer for all eternity, where everyone in the real world thinks she's dead, like I think they did with her in Tron 2.0 (as Ma3a).
I'm getting out of here right now, and you guys are invited. -----^ |

Jim Caterino's interview with Cindy where she talks about Caddyshack and TRON Legacy:
http://tinyurl.com/24gqu3f
Cindy always quotes Mark Twain when people talk about her character being dead or dying, "The reports of my death are greatly exaggerated."
As we've seen from the TRON Legacy viral event Lora is very much alive & well and married to Alan Bradley. I think her many thousands of supporters love her way too much to have her die or be killed off now.
UPDATE on this 3 parter interview. Here's a link to the third installment where she talks about TRON & on working with Bruce again on the TRON Legacy viral event, “I was just with Bruce in San Francisco where we did a promotion together. We picked up like we had just seen each other yesterday and no time had passed.”

TRON: Evolution? Sounds interesting. Where can I find out more about that?
As for Cindy, yeh to me I would be happy to see all the original actors make some re-occurring role or cameo. Almost a "Here is what they look like now" nod.
Definitely Bruce and Jeff. That is good. Cindy, even better. The guy who played Ram would be nice too, and anyone else they can find.
Hope Bit shows back up again.
Off to the Dallas convention to meet Bruce and Cindy!!

I think with the Encom announcement of Space Paranoids and Cindy Morgan getting to come on stage as Lori, Alan's wife, we have established that Lori is indeed alive, and married to Alan.
She is a part of the pre-game show at least, and I would imagine the whole "Flynn Lives" and Encom build up before the movie will be part of the extra features put on the DVD's and Blueray when they come out.
So st this point I'm fairly happy for Cindy Morgan/Lori's sake.
And Yori... is probably on a 5 1/2" floppy somewhere in the Encom archive, along with TRON, a security program for a mainframe long since past. If nothing else, Alan probably has the floppy of TRON somewhere hanging on a wall in his office.
Or out of nostalgia, or maybe out of what Flynn told them about his crazy dream about their programs that Alan and Lori have allotted a few minor computer clock cycles to run an emulation window of the old mainframe where TRON and Yori live on in their peaceful retirement.

Yori Lives! Checking In With 'Tron' And 'Caddyshack' Star Cindy Morgan - Cinematical.com
http://www.cinematical.com/2010/06/17/yori-lives-checking-in-with-tron-and-caddyshack-star-cindy/
Are you going to be doing any promotional stuff at Comic-Con this year?
Morgan: We'll see. I feel like it's the prom and I'm waiting to be asked – that's pretty much the thing. But that doesn't mean that just because I'm not invited to the prom I'm not going to look at the pictures. But we'll see – I'm just waiting to be asked...
I was going to ask about that because I saw you at Wondercon in San Diego.
Morgan: That was out of the blue. I got a call and they said, "you can't tell anybody about this, but we're bringing you in." and I thought, why? And it's very touching and it's very sweet, and studios generally don't do that. But I also knew I couldn't back off from it, out of respect for the thousands of people who weighed in on my character. I had to go, whether I felt comfortable or not. So I went in and luckily I met a lot of the guys who are in production at Disney, and I just had to smile. I was sassy and I had to ask, what are you, 25 years old? And they were sweet and they were laughing, and honestly it was so good to meet them. I couldn't have been happier about it. So we'll see where it goes and the producers were telling me they want to take this forward, and my managers said, "well, does that mean Cindy's in it?" They just kind of looked down at their shoes, so we don't know what's going to happen. But when somebody asks me if I'm going to be in Tron, here's my answer: it's science fiction, so anything is possible. I know that the film was shot the night before [the Wondercon event] that's probably going to end up in the film, and I know film was shot that day because I got it. So who knows? But to know that the fans are in charge, do you know how good that makes me feel?
So you think that stuff from Wondercon could end up in the actual movie? Or is it just part of the viral marketing?
Morgan: I think that these are very smart, savvy people who are watching this situation and I think that moreso than ever they read the web-crawlers in the morning, and they want this to be a success for the fans, so I think the decisions are being made as they go. I don't think when this thing started out that they had any intention of me being included in the promotion, but this "Yori Lives" campaign has been mentioned in [places as big as] the LA Times. You can't write the story to please everybody, but obviously people have a warmth and a love for this film, so I think it's evolving as we speak.
In case you missed it. A great photo of Bruce & Cindy at the Texas Sci-Fi Expo.

Well written article about TRON Legacy (where Cindy's character Lora Baines Bradley is mentioned) written by Ron Henriques for Latino Review:
http://www.latinoreview.com/news/tron-legacy-countdown-the-sons-of-flynn-10330
Lora is definitely apart of the TRON "Legacy". I know I and many other TRON fans would LOVE to see her as a special guest at the upcoming Comic Con panel!
Leading a life of rebellion, Sam yearns for parental guidance and his daredevil stunts have been an embarrassmentt to the heads of Encom, though board member and old friend Alan Bradley has turned a blind eye because he knows what the boy is going through. Once rivals for the affections of Flynn's former girlfriend Lora Baines, now Alan's wife, Bradley became the best of friends with Sam's dad and was just as puzzled as the rest of the world when the man suddenly disappeared. Now he sees the reckless youth that Flynn once was within the his son. Bradley witnessed how responsible Flynn had become, never knowing that it was due to his adventures in the virtual realm. Flynn quickly rose to the head of Encom and made it the biggest corporation in the world, taking Alan and Lora along with him. |
