Nah! I thought it was funny. I don't think you'll offend anyone with that clip. At least, not Tron-Sector members. They're a cool bunch! Not stuffy, uptight, or politically correct, like a lot of people seem to be these days. There are people who get offended just when you look at them.

Today's is certainly bizarre. After the video was over, I sat confused for a while. Then I began laughing.

You're such a boob.

BTW - a little Oingo Boingo reference in the material - you do remember the song, don't you?

Sorry about that, NoExcuses. Me and me as "bra heads" probably didn't make much sense unless you saw the 1985 film "Weird Science". I was doing a little parody of a particular scene that was much talked about back in the day. Generation gap. May have to blog about this.

If you haven't seen the film, check it out. It's VERY 80's (in terms of style and presentation), but it's still really cool in my book. Kelly Lebrock (sp?) is a major hottie in this film, too!

Dude... LOVE that new sig image you have. I was kind of spacing out watching it loop over and over again wondering how those guys could have SO much energy!

Thanks!

I made that from last weekend's "Dancing on the Ceiling" QuickVid... I just turned it upside down and repeated it.

And I paid a price for having "SO much energy". I was dancing as 80's as I could and also as exaggerated and silly as I could make it. All this hopping around was done in just sock-feet on a cement floor. Not only did I work up a good sweat, I also hurt my feet and legs in the process. Not wise to hop around like an idiot on a hard floor wearing only socks on the feet!

I'm just wrapping up my weekend QuickVid.

Oh man - OVER FOUR HOURS!

Yeah - I'm nuts. I've lost it. But I get obsessed with this kind of thing and I'm powerless against the compulsion to do it. Oh well - may as well make the best of it!

For those younger programs who may not have been around in the early 80's, you may want to watch this first. Then my 80's parody QuickVid may make a little more sense to you.

This is the early 80's music video that I parodied:

I missed yesterday's video, darnit.

I kinda got this weekend's video, but not quite. Thanks for posting a link to see the original video, Todd! I'd never seen it before. But I have heard the song in the past.

As soon as you said "Talking Heads" I knew what you were parodying - David Byrne and the Talking Heads - but as I said, I'd never seen the video before. So I didn't quite get it until I visited that link.

Even though you spent four hours on the video, I think the results were worth it.

Thank you - glad you enjoyed my strange trip back to the early 80's!

Trust me - you didn't miss much. Sometimes the QuickVids are not very funny or entertaining - just informative.

David Byrne was (is) so awesome! For some reason, back in the 80's I didn't quite get him. I look back at his work now and see his genius. That man can DANCE too... or whatever you call that stuff.

TronFAQ Wrote:Even though you spent four hours on the video, I think the results were worth it.

I couldn't believe it took four hours. It was a lot more difficult than I expected because the very simple visuals I was trying to replicate are not so simple to replicate using my old, outdated video editor. I ended up having to maintain SIX video tracks, several compound virtual clips, and deal with very, very slow responses to every little change I made during the process. I bet the original video was simpler to pull off than my little homage to it. I seriously need some modern digital editing tools!

Blah, blah, blah. There I go again. I guess I am the same as I ever was in that respect.

I watched the video before I watched the QuickVid, so it made a lot more sense. They were both really cool - I've heard the song before, but not seen the video, and the four hours on the QuickVid were worth it!abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Thanks, NoExcuses - glad you enjoyed.

I think the song and video are both cool.

I don't think I'll be producing any more 4-hour QuickVids for a while, but it was fun to see myself doing some David Byrne style moves like that.

I'm going to stick with the phone-cam QuickVids for a while. They may not look as cool, but they're a lot easier to manage in my limited free time.

I've got other ideas for production-style QuickVids though. And you know me - once I get an idea in my head, it will gnaw at my living brain matter until I let it out.

Ugh... I hate people like that at stores Todd. I had a close call with an eldery lady who nearly ran me over with her electric schooter at Walmart. Imagine a little old grey haired lady with glasses laugning while saying "I'm goin' get-ya!" as she barrels down an aisle just as I turn around and see her at the last moment. If I hadn't of lunged out of the way I would of been hit. Ah... great adventures in shopping.

Jeez, that kind of gives me a funny idea for short production video.

Mine was not an old lady at all, she was probably a few years younger than me even. She was dressed nice and looked kind of professional (not deranged or anything). She was on the left, and a guy with his son on the right. There was enough room between for two or even three customers to fit comfortably. I walked up to get a look, and she just lunged the cart up about two feet, very intentionally, right in my way. There was no doubt about this at all - it was very deliberate and although she never made eye contact with me, I could see the look on her face was all about business. I stood there a little confused and wondering if that just happened for real while she scoped out her cake. Then she was on her way. Man - I feel sorry for anyone who gets in her way. I bet she'd rather hit another car on the road instead of let it merge in her lane. WFT? People like that are becoming all to common these days. It really sucks. Although it did give me material for a QuickVid, so it wasn't all bad.

If I were you, I would've given that lady a free sample of "Knuckle Sandwich". J/K

It's really sad that people have to feel that they're sooo important and that the world revolves around them.

But, it's nice to know there's still nice people around (like the great community at TRON-Sector!).

Unfortunately, I missed Monday's. I saw today's though - and if you must know, I'm currently wearing brown jeans and a black shirt. As always.

I know you're kidding but we ALL think things like that. I bet people would be a LOT more polite in public if it was common practice to corect their behavior when they acted like this.

Was just curious if people wore sillier pants than my duck-covered pajama pants. But... a pay-per-view site... the Reel Pay-Per-View - sign up now and find out what people really wear when they're not wearing what they wear... or soemthing like that.

You didn't miss much. Monday's was just a supermarket story - nothing cool or funny.

I just hope Wednesday's doesn't offend anyone. Just a joke, folks.

I should start an official segment - "You've got questions, I've got REEL answers!"
