Great thread ....i am really enjoying everyone's ideas.
I would really like to see Kevin back for Tron 3...if it can be done in a tasteful way. Bruce too of course...we HAVE to see that killer scene of him rising out of the Sea of Simulation!
How WOULD Kevin come back? Anything is possible really knowing Sam has all The Grids' data around his neck in that lucky charm.
I hope it happens.....but Jeff is not getting any younger....and neither is Bruce.

The laser was shut down. Whatever raw materials were being stored by it would likely have dissipated. Bringing Quorra through means the laser likely managed to just pull in random particles to do the job along with data from the disc. If so, the same can be done for Kevin.

I think that Flynn should still be on the grid. If a user derezzes then he/she would be sent back through the portal, unless it's not opened. so if flynn derezzed during re-integration, then shouldn't he be in the real world? Just a random thought i had.

Then why didn't he just commit suicide in the grid when CLU betrayed him or let CLU kill him? I keep hearing that if a user dies in the digital world that they get ejected, where does that come from? I don't think it's canon is it? If it is true it takes all of the urgency out of the story if users can't die.

You made a good point right there, Warrior.
And about that "if User derezzed, they got ejected, etc., etc.,", that's because of the first movie where Flynn jumps into the beam to help Tron to defeat the MCP while Yori tries to warn Flynn, saying that he'll be "derezzed". And when the MCP has finally defeated, he gets sort of "ejected" from the beam and return to the real world.
And that's where all these "User-derezzed-in-digital-get-ejected" starts.

It is canon. Or implied in canon...after all, when he jumps into the MCP in the first film, he ends up back in the real world. I guess you could argue that we don't know if that happened because he jumped into the MCP, or if he was derezzed when he did and that's why it happened...

It comes from Tron, actually. Flynn jumps into the MCP, but ends up getting ejected into the real world.

Isn't the IO tower a portal though? Well I guess he jumped in before Tron derezzed the MCP... this needs to be clarified in TR3N...

It was clarified in Tron, actually.
He said he jumped into the MCP to distract the MCP, while Tron flung his disc into the core of the MCP

Yeah, really good point.
I guess you can always chalk it up to that fact that is a different system. In the first movie you didn't need a portal, I figure because the portal was constantly powered by Encom in that Lab.
Since Flynn's got a personal laser, I figure it's more difficult to keep it powered, therefore when the Portal finally went out, there was no way out.

It's a good thing he's in there somewhere, it just wouldn't be TRON if Flynn wasn't in there. Also, it wouldn't make sense for them to call the third tron "Flynn Lives" if he was dead.

I am still holding onto the title of the peice of music on the soundtrack that is used for the 're-intergration' scene. It is called 'Flynn Lives', though the scene the music was scored for is the complete opposite ( Flynn seems to die in a digital explosion with CLU!).
I have hope. Kevin needs to continue to be a part of this somehow...visually.

I always considered it to be an ironic title. Kevin dies, but "Flynn", his son Sam lives. The Flynn name lives on!
