I wish the big rain storm we had a couple days ago happened today and that hail and lighting would rain down on the Oscars... Darn storm arrived 2-3 days too early. :/

Gahh.......nomination nomination! I love abbreviates, takes less typing. ;-)

But just as we resent no T:L NOMINATIONS, Inception fans hate that Chris Nolan wasn't NOMINATED.

How can a film get nominated for Best Picture and not have its director nominated? The two are mutually inseparable. Reminds me of when Gladiator won Best Picture and Ridley got snubbed. It wouldn't have won were it not for his direction.

Glad Inception has been winning. Take that naysayers.

legacy musical score deserves a nomination. this is sad. daft punk were brilliant.

the costumes deserves what they get. I am surprised most tron fans think that is a given. And based on what? these are neon lights on biker suits discarded by x-men productions. there is nothing new or even intricate about it.

technology deserves a mention too. strange inception got the nod. fucking loser of a film with nolan the destroyer of batman franchise so elevated by burton. the creep got frds in high places.

I don't always like the big popular pics. I bought Avatar and Inception, and both were ok. Yet I fell in love with a not so popular film called Tron back in 1982.

I just don't know by what criteria people vote for films in the Academy.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Oh FFS, the suits are NOT "motor cycle suits with neon lights".

There was some careful design and specialized electronic tech that went into the construction of the costumes. The design behind them is heavily based on the early concept art by Syd Mead for the the original Tron as well as some of the early concept designs of "Tron 3.0" PC game that was never made.

The suits were custom scuplted, based on the main actors actual bodies after scanning them. The lights are a specially made electroluminecent polymer. They had to work in the wiring within the suit, and conceal the power inverters, and put in a recievcer so they could switch the suits on and off remotely.

here's a great article/interview about there design and construction:

Please, enough with the bashing on the suits. They looked pretty damn good IMO. I would of liked a few more light up circuit details sure, but come one enough with the harsh criticism on them.

I still think the sound was awesome. The disks, the lightcyles, that bit when Sam looks up and sees Rinzler falling towards him. The music was an eclectic mix of orchestration and digital sound music. SFX goes without saying. I would forego costumes to see these other categories given to T:L.

seriously, whats your beef with people not agreeing with one point? Do you realise I agreed on the musical score and tehcnology use? you should be the one taking the chill pill dude. everyone thinks differently.

Costume criteria is mostly on fashion sensibility visual appeal and little on technological implementation. Just accept it. the facts are there. In fact, link is a great insight on the problems they encounter and you could sense the disappointment in the costume maker and her take on the process lack of time. Any designer can tell you if we complain about lack of time, its an indirect statement of this is not my design but someone else is instructing me to do it.

Absolutely true.
Legacy was sometimes rated very unfair by critics and people.
Even though it might not reach a cult status like TRON has it.

But hey, 7 nom nom noms at Saturn's. At least 2 are granted.

in 30 yrs where digital replicants of long dead actors are staring in movies, people will look back on Tron Legacy as say "this movie really kind of predicted what we have in a lot of movies now"... just my prediction.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

God I hate myself for getting into this, but I guess a bit of self-flagellation can be healthy...

You're really saying that Burton did a better job with Batman than Nolan did? I have no great love for Batman Begins and I think that people have always been a little hysterical over Dark Knight, but it's nearly impossible to argue that Burton made better movies. They were camp, their pacing was broken, the characterization was way off the mark, and they were more exercises in Burton's signature, overplayed aesthetic than movies in their own right. The dialogue was contrived and awkward, the casting of Batman himself was poor, production design was a mixed bag...

I guess what I'm saying is that at some point it stops being about which "camp" you're in and starts being about stepping back and evaluating whether a movie is one you enjoy or whether it's actually a really good movie. There is a difference.

there you go...you couldnt help yourself. Almost everything you hated. Do you know all that you said I feel the same way about Nolan and his ilk. the cherry on the cake was his direction on bales "low raspy contrived" voice of batman. lol. TO me it made such a mockery of batman because we knew bale natural voice was far from that.

To you its camp. to us burton's a recognized artist in the film industry. If it wasnt he wouldnt be making blockbuster films till today and with johnny depp, the coolest guy with a dress sense girls actually screamed few good minutes in the pirate of the carribean awards. you are way over your head on this. Nolan aesthetics is not recognised. He is lauded for his pacing and camera work which is actually the director of photography and not him. So you point is more personal than the industry recognition.
