TRON: LEGACY was completely snubbed from getting any Oscar Nominations in the Best Visual Effects, Best Costume, and Best Score categories for the upcoming 83rd Academy Awards which is to be held on February 27th.
The "Derezz! the Oscars Day" Event is for those who want to boycott watching the Oscars the day of its broadcast and instead go to their local movie theater playing TRON: LEGACY to watch it in protest and in support of it not getting nominations for its incredible artistry and creativity...!

I'm just really insulted that Tron Legacy got overlooked for Visuals-- how the hell can Avatar be nominated for that last year and for Tron Legacy not to get that?

i wish to join it, but 27th Feb... i probably wont have Tron Legacy on theatre at that time.
I think it's scandal that the visual effect and sound is not even being recognized. Please take a knock on the sky, and listening to the sound!!!!!!!! can you find a better visual effect and soundtrack than tl......i dont think so.
Even some of my fans dont like the film, also said the soundtrack and visual is something special.

Also, it is unfair that TL didn't get a nod for costumes too. Holy hell, I went through so much trouble trying to do recreate the look for a costume I made only to be able to get a jacket to light up.

It was mentioned in another thread, the people in charge of votes do not understand all the work that goes into the movie.
I've never seen the Oscars in my life and I never will. To me, its the same as the Golden Globes, Grammy's and the CMA's. However, snubbing Tron in those categories makes them lose any and all credibility.

As I said on the FB page, maybe the Academy thought that TRON was still cheating by using computers 28 years later.

The Academy Awards are completely and utterly MEANINGLESS. They're based on the narrow minds of a bunch of overpaid Hollywood bigwigs who have the audacity to presume that they have the final say over what movie, actor, actress, etc. is the best of the year
The only support I'll be showing towards any nominees is the one award T:L is nominated for (which I suspect it will lose to Inception, sorry to say) and for Jeff Bridges for True Grit. Otherwise, they can all go derezz.

I would boycott the Oscars for MORE than just dissing Tron and Tron:Legacy (I haven't really watched the Oscars much for the past several years anyway). When it comes to all those awards shows, (as many have said), you have a bunch of pretentious and close-minded/bean-counting/green-obsessed/palm-greasing snobs who arrogantly and audaciously think that they have the ability to tell the rest of us what is the end-all/be-all of the best in film, video, music, and TV. To hell with those bastards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really don't watch those shows, as I can't stand to - AT ALL - and it pisses me off even more when they have these, "Posthumous" awards - why the hell didn't they see the genious of the Man or Woman that was worthy of recognition WHEN THEY WERE ALIVE?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wow. I hate those awards shows. End of rant.
