Adagio for Tron is awesome. A bit of a spoiler of a track, but awesome.

OK, I found a you tube channel with all the songs. Not sure if it's a fake or not. The songs were posted November 23rd. I've listened to a couple of tracks, and it sounds pretty good. End of Line I've heard before, but for some reason it makes me think of Blade Runner now. Adagio For TRON was the other I've listened to so far.

jonwes Wrote:Love this soundtrack. I've been listening to it for a few weeks, but today I got the iTunes version. The bonus tracks are nice. Father & Son is basically a more tender version of the theme in the overture and used elsewhere. But the REALLY exciting track is Outlands Part 2. It starts off sounding similar to other parts of the theme but about a minute in it becomes this really cool throbbing soundscape.
Can't wait to hear the tracks from the UK deluxe version. I haven't gotten a physical copy yet because I'm kind of hoping they might release a complete score eventually. |
You're better off importing U.K. deluxe OST like I am. |

I am pretty sure there are pieces of the Dune soundtrack on youtube that you can check out for yourself. IMO it has the depth, feeling and epic sound that is sorely lacking in the DP techno music. I really like the "Take My Hand" song that played during the end credits.

Majority of the tracks by TOTO sounded way different than their usual studio albums.
Except for the tune during DUNE's ending credits which sounded very
much like TOTO's studio albums.

I have to say, it's a real shame that they've spread around all these exclusive tracks that standard CD purchasing people won't be able to hear. Songs like Sea of Simulation (which I think is probably the closest you're going to get to the original movie's music) and Outlands pt. 2 are fantastic and provide some much needed diversity to the soundtrack.
With that said, it's definitely a grower for me, and I've noticed that if listened to with high quality audio output, you get to hear many more fine details than you otherwise would which makes it much more enjoyable. abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

DaveTRON, I can understand what you mean about the repetitiveness of the score. However, I'm truly digging it! I've had it in my car stereo since last week and love it! Now, I still prefer the Carlos score as it so amazingly fits the film and is such a unique soundtrack; however, I think Daft Punk has delivered for the style of the new film.
When you see the film, I think you'll dig it more. It very much fits in with the look/feel/vibe of the film.
I do hope that the Sector doesn't become "Star Wars Prequel Battle 2.0" after Tron Legacy comes out.
I hope die-hard fans can enjoy the film for what it is, a new tale in a new grid for a new generation of fans/film lovers! I haven't stopped thinking about it since I saw it and will be seeing it again this Saturday!

After heavy snow in Scotland my copy of the special edition arrived today. Firstly - the box itself is a work of art. Discs 1+2 look like TRON discs, in a flip up box I've never seen before. The bonus videos are pretty meh for anyone here who will learn nothing new really.
I love Daft Punk (Alive 2007 is the best live album ever) but understand people who think it's a bit samey - Human After All was very repetitive and only comes to life in the aforementioned live form. In the case of the soundtrack, I'm no musicologist but maybe it's like recurring themes rather than repetition?
My faves rom my initial listen are Arena, End of Line, Derezzed, End Titles and Castor (off disc 2). These are the most Daft Punk-ish songs but the whole soundtrack works really well for me - although I should wait until I hear it in the context of watching the film.
This soundtrack has elements of Daft Punk, Vangelis, Japanese Taiko drums, original TRON and a dash of Jean Michel Jarre. This is all good for me.
And now the gripe: I pre-ordered this over a month ago at £13.99. Now it's been on Amazon for £3.99. I could cope with that but what I hate is that I then had to (well didn't have to, no-one's forcing me but...) pay extra for the Amazon exclusive Sea of Simulation (another excellent track and the one closest to classic TRON) and then couldn't get the iTunes bonuses without buying the whole album! I had to resort to youtube for them. I think it's unfair to spread material across sites/versions as I'm guessing that if we're committed enough to be on a forum for this we're probably completist enough to want everything.

You're better off getting hold of the Toto CD that has the "complete score" on it. It's missing the Eno track but has many gorgeous Toto cues from the movie on it.
In my view DP's soundtrack fits the movie perfectly. It has the Zimmer-esque orchestral pieces mixed with the DP electronic sound. There's some real beauty behind the tracks. "Arrival" is quite a moving track, to me, for some reason, and Adaggio for TRON is also memorable in this way, even if the visuals don't convey the sadness.
One of my favourites will always be the End of Line track. I've heard that the most, along with The Game Has Changed.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online http://wayfarer2006.blogspot.com/

There is mos def a Vangelis feel to the score. And that's a good thing!
As I said, I think the score does a great job of letting you know this is not the same grid and this new grid doesn't have all the same rules or vibes as the original.
The score works for me by itself but especially within the context of the film. It truly helps create the complete feel of the film, as good scores do.

Yeah, and I am not trying to start fights, just expressing an opinion, which certain people seem to feel I am not allowed to do if it is negative.
Certain tracks are better than others and some might even be growing on me, but it isn't a listenable soundtrack for the most part to me. I plan to re-evaluate after seeing the film, so there's hope for my negativity to be cured I guess.
I agree on maintaining civility here. We don't all have to share an opinion, but we can certainly be a lot nicer about it since we do have to share this place.

If this is something that just works better when watching the film, then its because the sounds of the film are enough to cover up the repetition of the soundtrack. But really... it shouldn't be that way. A goof film score should be able to stand on its own and inspire. Even if you don't know the movie, you should be able to plug in the soundtrack and be like, "Whoa... what's THIS about?"
Daft Punk, if it reminds me of anything, I'd say the Matrix. Which kinda makes sense, I guess. Though I really don't like the Matrix soundtrack that much either, except for the third film. Take for instance, the famous Lobby scene. While all the shooting is going on, the music sounds wicked awesome. But on its own, it really loses something.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I'm a big fan of movie scores, it's the main type of music I buy, but I'm not sure if I agree with that statement.
The primary purpose of a film score is to serve the needs of the film. If it is great to listen to outside the movie, that's an awesome bonus. But the main focus of a good score should be how it works within the movie itself.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

So, apparently the website I pre-ordered from accidentally sent me two copies of the soundtrack (as well as two posters). If there's anyone who wants them, just let me know. You won't have to worry about paying for them, just the shipping costs, most likely.

T:L Soundtrack debuts at number 10! This is incredibly impressive for a soundtrack.
http://beatcrave.com/2010-12-16/daft-punks-tron-soundtrack-debuts-at-number-10-on-billboard-top-200/
"That’s likely to change now that the album of Daft Punk’s score for the film sold 70, 794 units between the period of December 7 and December 12. And that’s just in the United States and Canada. Wow.
Already, this makes the score one of the highest selling in recent years and may possibly edge it into the ranks of the best sellers of all time. It debuted at Number 10 on Billboard’s Top 200 Album list. The last time a score debuted in the Top 10 on that list was five years ago for Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
It’s also made its way onto the list of Top 10 iTunes albums, securing the number 3 spot in the States and enjoying the top spot in France, which makes sense, seeing as the band is French after all."

you can't think of the tron soundtrack as a daft punk album. daft punk would never use a 85-piece orchestra to create something they would put on the dancefloor.
you have to look and listen to the soundtrack as a piece of its own, and forget about "one more time" and "around the world" but at the same time when you listen to it, you hear the elements of daft punk that are brought out to make this album unique and quite fitting to the movie. now tell me what you think of it.
considering it is a disney movie, its kind of tough to take risks and since they are typically heavy on the drama (especially with the millions of dollars they dumped into this movie) they couldn't afford to want to make it as edgy and daft punk-eque as we'd expect it to be because remember, they are catering to children for the merchandising which is where the big bucks are. kids who see this movie will be overwhelmed just with the graphics themselves and to go overboard with a crazy electronic soundtrack might be overkill (although i do not reject the idea). although we are cult followers and would like a more sophisticated storyline, and a more head-nodding soundtrack that we would come to expect with our age and wisdom for this movie we have to remember the forces that shape the commercialism that come with such a blockbusting movie which includes the music.
honestly if you think about it, the tron legacy soundtrack is a movie score for a big epic disney movie. what do you expect? disney can't take many risks, especially in this economy where spending $30 for two to see a 3d movie may be a burden to a family's disposeable income. so they kept it traditional (for the most part).
