Well, now that I have seen the film with the soundtrack, I can say I like it a little better. I definately like the music from the Arena scene and the music on the solar sailer that they reused during the sunrise scene and as a slower version in the finale, but I wasn't too keen on the music played in the End Of Line Club, that we all heard long ago. Derezzed was fine and there was a new tune that played for a split second in the club before it transitioned back to Flynn and Quorra. I like the Journey and Eurythmics stuff that were not included on the sound track. I dunno, it sounded more like Daft Punk were channeling Zimmer and Poledouris at certain times so its kinda a tough soundtrack for me to totally love, but I will probably own it at some point.

technologic Wrote:you can't think of the tron soundtrack as a daft punk album. daft punk would never use a 85-piece orchestra to create something they would put on the dancefloor.
you have to look and listen to the soundtrack as a piece of its own, and forget about "one more time" and "around the world" but at the same time when you listen to it, you hear the elements of daft punk that are brought out to make this album unique and quite fitting to the movie. now tell me what you think of it.
considering it is a disney movie, its kind of tough to take risks and since they are typically heavy on the drama (especially with the millions of dollars they dumped into this movie) they couldn't afford to want to make it as edgy and daft punk-eque as we'd expect it to be because remember, they are catering to children for the merchandising which is where the big bucks are. kids who see this movie will be overwhelmed just with the graphics themselves and to go overboard with a crazy electronic soundtrack might be overkill (although i do not reject the idea). although we are cult followers and would like a more sophisticated storyline, and a more head-nodding soundtrack that we would come to expect with our age and wisdom for this movie we have to remember the forces that shape the commercialism that come with such a blockbusting movie which includes the music.
honestly if you think about it, the tron legacy soundtrack is a movie score for a big epic disney movie. what do you expect? disney can't take many risks, especially in this economy where spending $30 for two to see a 3d movie may be a burden to a family's disposeable income. so they kept it traditional (for the most part).

I don't know if this was directed at my original post or not, but I'll chime in.
I personally wasn't expecting a Daft Punk score in their pop format, that's not why I don't like it at all.
What I was expecting is passion and fire like they bring to their music, and I felt that was lacking.
I think my opinion is going to be modified by seeing it in context of the film tomorrow, but I am fairly certain it's not going to be a great soundtrack in my mind even then. Middle of the road at best, but that is just my opinion.
I am very pleased so many like it and it's a big hit.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online DaveTRON

Personally, I was just writing a general comment because I mean this is a forum right? I don't think everyone who writes something on this thread is trying to go against what you're saying so you don't have to reply so defensively to each one. I think everybody is just expressing their feelings related to the topic, or at least I was.
But of course, everyone is entitled to their opinions.
End of line.

Pirates seemed to do quite well with a classical score.
And Wendy Carlos, despite the electronic elements, always felt more like classical to me than anything. But then, electronic music has evolved a LOT since then, and if you think about where DP was before Disney picked them to do T:L, it actually seems just as risky as anything else they could've done. Daft Punk has been old-school for years now, going by the usual definition.
If Disney really did this because they didn't want to take risks, the T:L soundtrack would be frigging hip-hop.

Now that all the bonus tracks have been revealed ( iTunes extras, Amazon Extras, U.K. Special Edition) has anyone been able to but together a definitive chronological sequence for the soundtrack?
I know on the regular edition, a couple of tracks are out of sequence with the film....
any help?

I've not seen a definitive, correct, chronological sequence yet. Not having a pop at anybody, because I'm not clever enough to put it together accurately after having seen the movie again last night, and this post is from another board.
I'd say that Outland Part II comes after Adagio for TRON as it covers Sam's journey in the vintage light cycle. Arena comes after Armory as I'm sure that was the music during the transition to the arena. The Game Has Changed is the cue during the light cycle battle. There's also the track Alan's Message (only available as a preview clip).
Somehow, between all of us, we'll get this right :O)

Heh, considering the early success of the soundtrack, I'd bet good money that we'll have some sort of expanded release in 2011.
Edit: 'Sunrise Prelude' is only available with Nokia Ovi players overseas. However, you can find it online, as copies are starting to pop up.

After hearing it in IMAX, this soundtrack needs to be released in high resolution surround sound. The stereo CD release just doesn't cut it.

Greetings, Programs.
Bought it yesterday at my local Barnes n Noble, which also happens to be my place of employment. Love it. Ripped the audio and uploaded onto my nook. Still love it. I knew of Daft Punk prior to this, but usually techno to me sounds pretty much the same. The fact that this is more like a digital orchestra? Oh. Eargasm.
End of line.

Understandably, they can't fit every piece of music from the movie on the soundtrack, but there's one I'm REALLY missing after having seen the movie a few times:
The organ-sounding lead in to the "End of Line" track when Kevin and Quorra are talking prior to leaving for the EOL club. LOVED that bit.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill
