It could be a long time before there is news of substance.

I'm very well aware of that. Imagine trying to put interesting things into a TR2N blog with the lack of information that is (or isn't) forthcoming.

Isn't that a bit of a contradiction? If they're really not looking for fan input, why would they bother checking here to see the reaction to any news? Wouldn't it just be full steam ahead, and forget about what the online community (and Tron-Sector, specifically) is saying they want to see?

Don't get me wrong, I fully agree with you. Ultimately, we're not that important. The powers that be will do what they want to do, regardless of what the fans ask. But I do think we can have some minor influence on the way the sequel turns out. If enough of the more hardcore fans show up on the Tron fan sites and speak their minds, they might at least try to take our wishes into account. (I'm thinking mainly about the writers, when I say this. I trust Steven and John Lasseter to make a kick-ass sequel. Joseph Kosinski is the wild card, but I'm fairly confident about him as well.)

DaveTRON Wrote:When we started TRON 2.0, I was told to join here and read what was said because nobody else at BVG wanted to do so. When we needed Beta Testers, it was my idea to run that out of here working with Auric. Maketing never wanted to post here and never liked the idea of running any events through here. They were focused on their mass marketing ideas like "hot girls handing out demos in Santa Monica" or "NOT getting the TRON 2.0 trailer into Disney thetrical releases".
Not that any of us haven't long since figured this out for ourselves, but . . . it's still kind of sad to hear about their attitude.

Pity was not the reaction I expected.

I am glad that DaveTRON is keeping his mouth shut

A lot of people might like it if I did it better than I do!

I was coming at it from reading a slightly more militant perspective. I would say that some members feel we should be able to dictate things that should be in the film.
I know there have been opinions raised ever since the first talk of a sequel that "I won't watch it if this doesn't happen". I have seen things in this thread that make it clear that some people want direct access to tell these guys what they want to see.

I guarantee that will never happen to the extent people would like. Legalities and all sorts of other things would prevent it.

If we ever do convince them to come here and do anything, I bet it's a Q&A session of some sort and nothing more.

I think they are interested in us and our opinion, but only from a distance.

So wil it be released in 2010, or 2011? I've heard different dates from different places.

This is what Simbeau is referring to:
http://www.jeffbridges.com/nickysays.html
On its own, her statement isn't 100% clear. Is she referring to Crazy Heart, or TR2N? But on another page, Jeff mentions that he's starting work on Crazy Heart now. So that confirms the statement is indeed referring to TR2N.

BTW, when I wrote that Dave: I meant that most of us have probably figured out their attitude, sadly. But I actually didn't know you had to twist their arms to come visit Tron-Sector, or any of those other details.

Perhaps if you read my post you would see (if indeed you are speaking of me, dunno, perhaps reading the other websites?) that I said if the plot is 2 hours of glam and not written as well as a certain future Tron 2.0 fanfic novel, I would burn my computer. (compilation of 2 posts)

I dare not say I wouldn't see it, or threaten to make indirect comments about it's direction, other than that I notice that the glassy off the grid areas are ... glassy useless looking objects untrue enough to make me puke if I have to see useless roller coaster poolside digital chlorine in my nose Tron. Maybe that was a training area. maybe that guy was escaping the grid because flynn told him to, and he cried at his last moments "you said it's just a game, you said it's just a game."

Which, in this case is what some think of computers, so that part where language is put into Tron is what drives my imagery. The fanfic showed a complete arrangement of exactly what defines and what knowledge fans deserve- Tron seperate from everything else, and how well computers could be if they could harness 10 tons of the finest densest memory material necessary to mimic the human body. So yeah, I say back to the drawing board, but figuratively, not derogatively.

I've seen everywhere from 2010 to 2012. Until the script is done and shooting begins there's no way to get a specific date. A great example is Iron Man 2. They've finished principal photography but the estimated release date is in 2010 because of the post-production work that has to be completed. 2011 is the best guess at the earliest.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

I found a snippet online, of a fairly recent interview with Cindy Morgan (from last year) from Starlog magazine. In it, she says that "if they made any more TRON follow-ups, they’re planning to bring back Yori".

Not an absolute confirmation of her return, but still interesting to hear.

Well, now that's it's pretty much confirmed that Clu is re-rezzed and back, this fact brings up an interesting question:

Will Ram or Crom rerezz as well?
I'm really glad they're bringing back Clu - who is one of my favorite characters - so it would be really awesome if other programs will come be resurrected as well. How? I don't know...maybe they can come back via 26 year old backup 5 1/4" floppy disks.

I understand that's one of your favorite characters but, Could you please be so kind as to backup your 'assumptions' with some 'links' Mr. Sinistar?
Thanx.

It was issue #354, from April 2007.

About the CLU debate. The only source we have saying that it's CLU right now, is Quint from AICN.

http://www.aintitcool.com/node/37629
He states that his source is someone in the know, who knows a lot of the details, and trusts that person to be accurate. While that's not 100% absolute evidence to prove that the character is CLU, I've chosen to accept AICN's word on this.

Yeah, that's where I read it from. Thanks for posting the link, TronFAQ.

For me anyway, the voice is a dead giveaway that's CLU. Also the fact he's in yellow or green circuitry (green's the new yellow? ) gives us another clu to his identity. order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Careful. That site is only the tiniest step ahead of Jim Hill's.

Anyway, considering that the bit we see is apparently not a trailer but a test reel, and that the film is not yet written, I suspect that the character is Clu only in the sense that it is a program with Flynn's face. There really is no story being delivered with the test reel, nor do I think there is meant to be one.

According to Bridges, the script is still being written. I'm kinda surprised he signed on (assuming he has) without a finished script.
