You're partly right - but let's be real: where is that money coming from that they'd be making when the movie comes out? Or more specifically, out of whose pockets? The pockets of the people that would be going to see it, buy the picture books, buy the video games, and all related media, right???

I really can't imagine that the Disney Corporate Pocketbook (TM) would take that huge of a hit if they were to delay a *trailer* for four days. It's not even the movie. The movie isn't even coming out for... let's see... 289 days.

I mean, I want to see the trailer, too -- and I doubt seriously I'll be able to see Alice opening weekend, so I'm going to be looking for it online -- but really, Disney could delay the release of the trailer for months and it wouldn't affect whether I'm going to see the film.

How you choose to spend your money is, of course, up to you. ;-)

Yes, I have the prerogative and wherewithall to spend my money how I choose. I did not say I didn't want to see Tron Legacy, either. Yes, I know the movie's not out for 289 days (due to processing visfx, editing, reshoots, pickup shots, answer print, workprint, test audiences, sound mixing, foley mixing, distribution, marketing, and all the other phases left to complete the finished movie), I know that Disney may not take a huge hit if they don't release the trailer online tomorrow, but one fact still stands, and that fact is not negated whatsoever by whatever Disney or any company on this planet, decides: companies cannot make money without PLEASED customers who are willing to part with their money. That is the fundamental, irrefutable first and foremost principle of business. There's also some other elements that go into that principle such as building a good rapport with customers, and pleasing the customers so that they'll want to part with their money from the gate - and from what I've read, there are many (especially those who were not fortunate enough to attend the special 5-city screenings last week, and those who were at the New York screening )who are already pissed off at HOW the business was handled.

For the sake of argument, in my little 2-cents, saying the trailer will be released online soon after the special screening, then saying it will be released online on Friday, then saying it won't be released online until 10 days after the exclusive special screening, may piss off even more people. Just pick a date, stick with it, and stop changing it around more than a couple times, and just be straight-up. Yes, a little mystery is understandable - but as even someone else said on this site, being patient with Disney is akin to torture.

You could have said "Now get me that Tron Legacy trailer file I asked for" and gotten the same message across while at the same time making a clever reference to the original movie.

So, I saw Alice tonight in 3D, accompanied by the Legay Trailer. And I must say, I'm very impressed. I like the new suit design to an extent, but I wish the circuitry had been as complex as the original designs.
Thoughts and opinions?

There was so much awesome in the trailer, I can't really contain myself. I've been talking about it all day, it was so good. I remember having my jaw drop when Sam was going up that elevator...those lights and signs in the air were freaking awesome. My two little brothers really wanna see it too, and they're not really fans of the first movie, so I think it's pretty cool that I brought in two more fans LOL.

Overall, that trailer was pretty much perfect. I really wanna see it again.

As for the circuitry...I'm really, really impressed with the costumes. One of the things that really bug me with the original movie is how "glitchy" the backlit effect can get at times. I know it was an experimental process and very tedious and while overall, it's an awesome effect, it does gets really distracting. Ram, Flynn and Tron seeing the I/O Tower for the first time is a good example of that glitchy effect. Legacy's circuitry design features, REALLY vibrant colors and a much wider diversity too. I also loved how Sam's circuitry was pulsing with energy as he was walking up the white hallway. I think the new costumes are really going to rock.

Nice overview Mr. Sinistar, and I was wondering about that air guitarist
But don't get me wrong, I really do like the new costumes. I'm just nostalgic for the old ones is all.

These are all the listings I got from Books In Print while I was at work. Mostly kids books, but maybe one or two that aren't. I really want the first one

I'm all for TRON: The Betrayal comic book... I'm familiar with Fabian Nicieza's work and this seems like it'll deliver... Cool finds there Maxiekat and CaptainCR! Keep up the good work!

Now, on to more immediate matters...

I mean, speaking of those glowing frisbees... man! This was better than nothing!!! I was aching here you know... Simply put, AWESOME find Traahn!!! Thanx.

EDIT: I don't care if I'm alone in this, I'm stating it here anyways, I UTTERLY AND COMPLETELY HATED THE MUSIC IN THE TRAILER. Call me what you will, if this Daft Punk pseudo-electronic music doesn't get any better in the film, overall, it may ruin my whole TRON Legacy experience. Period. Enuff said.

VRAM, Did you see the trailer in the theatre or the leaked trailer on Youtube?

The leaked trailer's audio is so horrible in quality, and a lot of it is very garbled so it doesn't do the music justice at all.

IMO after seeing the trailer, I thought the music was pretty good and it fit the visuals of the trailer so well that I barely even noticed it.

But I think it sounds good, it is a custom track for the trailer itself according to Joseph Kosinski.

"The film is about finding human connection in an increasingly digital world." - Joseph Kosinski
