Hey everybody,

Sorry I kind of vanished from this little initiative. I haven't forgotten about it -- quite the opposite. But I've been a) incredibly, violently ill and b) swamped with school. I forgot that sometimes being in teacher's college means actually doing work.

I'm working on assets for the website tonight, but I wanted to run this by everyone -- would we be happy with a WordPress site and a slightly customized theme, or is the preference to have a totally custom site built from the ground up? I think we could get by with a fairly default WordPress site; we'd still be able to customize it as much as we really need, IMO. And pretty much everyone's familiar enough with it to use it out of the box if we want to have a bunch of authors.

Thoughts?

Go with whatever's easiest, I think that we could personalize a WordPress site rather well.

Okay, guys, seriously need some feedback on the whole domain name thing.

I registered tronliv3s but, frankly, when I type it into the bar it looks stupid and feels awkward to type.

tr3nlives is, IMO, a better fit. It's more organic and it plays on the precedent set by TR2N. People who know Tron are going to know it doesn't say TREN and those are the people who are going to join the campaign. Anyone who's like "what's tren" is not going to mail a letter to Disney.

Both at the moment refer you to the main site but please give me some feedback and tell me what you think.

I know I'm waffling on this but I'm of the mindset again that we should go with TR3N LIVES.

In terms of roles, I agree that we should determine who is doing what. I'm going to throw my hat in where I can, Site maintenance, setting up the letter writing campaign. Promotion is something I will not have time for at all given school and my other projects (podcast, Morphology, etc).

Maybe the logo could be tron liv3s or tron lives.

And here are the positions that we are going to be signing up on Mon/Tues (Some might be added/taken away later):
-Facebook Page Runner
-Grid Game Sporting Events Manager
-Press Release Guy
-Other Group Contact Guy (You know, someone to get other Tron groups involved, like Yori Lives etc. And this includes talking to Tron Guy.)
-Lightcycle team (This one is the iffy one, if anyone has any connections to anybody who works on motorcycles, that type of thing and by some miracle they agree to go along with it- let me kno!)
-Shirt people
-Website guru
-ComiCon presence
-Volunteers in general

I know that I probably forgot something important for the list. Feel free to add what I forgot.

More Tron-y than the one that was the standard. I only meant for it to be a placeholder theme until we made the ultimate Tron design.
