I'm going to make the pdf template for the letters, but for the website graphics etc I want the actual Legacy font.

Also: new addition to Phase 1. QR codes. More on this later, because I'm going to crash.

Oscar Gungan, do you have any tips for the letter writing campaign?

I'm not sure who exactly we need to write at Disney and what the best way to get it to them is, but I can research that. I think we need to make sure that letters we send are polite and nonthreatening and also short and to the point. If any of us writes a letter more than a few paragraphs I doubt it will be read. I'm thinking the best thing we could send is anecdotal information, stuff the numbers aren't going to tell them. They need to hear how the midnight showing crowds were, things kids were overheard saying in the toy aisles. Heck, if you have a kid that is drawing pictures like mad of Tron send them those. I know this sounds cliche but if there is a way to make them "feel the love" that is what we should figure out how to do with our letter writing campaign. I think once a web site is put together than we should decide where we should send out press releases and who we should send them to.
Another thing we need to know is who has big conventions in their areas and who is planning to attend what. There are things we can make happen at those shows to spread the word.

Out of all the PG and G type movies I have been to. I have never seen so many kids come out of the movie theater and say that was totally awesome they want to see it again tomorrow after the movie ended. Many of them where acting out the disc wars scene and the light cycle scene. They look totally spell bound on Tron. One kid had a pad and pen and was sitting on a bench in the theater waiting on somebody and I glanced over at what he was drawing and he was trying to draw a lightcycle and the tron suit. The inspiration factor on them was huge. It was the same wow factor it had on me in the 1982 Tron. Just fast forward 28 years later it did it again on the younger generation.

I see a lot of talk of costs, here. It doesn't need to cost a lot if you do it right.

namecheap.com offers excellent deals on domains. Places like godaddy have tons of hidden costs, and you end up paying like $25 a year once it's all said and done. Through namecheap, I'm doing $11 a year. For my hosting, I'm borrowing server space from my buddy Prez Jordan at ilictronix.com for $30 a year. That's a total of $40 a year for a website. Not saying I can get you on with this guy (i probably couldn't) but you'd be surprised who might have some server space and bandwidth they might be willing to share with you at cost. Some hosts like hostgator offer unlimited bandwidth and storage fairly cheap, so people with a plan like that are more willing to share.

Cheap web design, start out with something like Webdwarf. As long as you have professional-looking graphics, you can make a good site that can be kept on as the real deal, or a placeholder until a more professional design sets up.

That aside, I know a guy in New York who sold webhosting and did web design... he's a fan, so he may like to help out. Want me to contact him? He offered to set me up some deals when I first started my netlabel in '09.

Sure, thank you!

An like I said, if some of our ideas don't turn out we can always come up with something else that's cheaper but just as effective.

Well does anyone have a motorcycle that they wouldn't mind forever altering, or a car we could always try a light-runner?

We can pull it off, it's possible. Look at this about the Appamobile: http://www.knoxnews.com/news/2010/jul/06/no-headline---070610appa/

Hey, have you seen this article yet:
http://www.comicbookmovie.com/fansites/rorschachsrants/news/?a=29317

The writer claims Disney has been "reaching out" to Cindy Morgan to reprise her role from the original film. the article doesn't say if this occurred before or after Tron: Legacy was released. I wrote the reporter just now and asked if he could clarify. I mentioned to him that we are trying to cook something up and any news one way or the other would be helpful to us.

On another note I wonder if we should heavily use the four squares arranged in a T configuration on Tron's suit as a symbol that we can use on letterhead and any viral efforts we endeavor in.

A 'Go see Tron Legacy again and bring a friend' campaign would be a good idea. Nothing speaks louder than money.

I support this.

btw, select General Mills cereal boxes are having a "buy two specially marked boxes, get a movie ticket worth up to $12 free" promotion. What theaters are included in the promotion and when it expires I do not know, unfortunately.

You guys ROCK.

That's an interesting article Oscar Gungan.

Do you guys think that we should change this thread name to include Tron Lives? It would get the name out there more...

EDIT:But would the public get the "3" in there? Should we do Tron Lives with the cool "Legacy font" with the four squares, or am I being to OCD?

When I was looking into the Yori in Tron 3 article I came across a Facebook page called "Yori Lives." They campaigned to have the character in Tron: Legacy but it didn't pan out. I'd say a Tron 3 is there best shot now. I wonder if we should contact them and let them know what we are up to. Maybe they cane help generate more people to help with our cause. order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

A light cycle tour is gonna cost allot of money to put into action. The lodging the gas etc. unless they plan on camping out. Then just gas i guess. But I think we really really should have a paypal donate button. Maybe the admin or somebody trustworthy can be the allocator for the funds we donate. abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I wonder if while we gear up for Phase 1 if we quietly start to circle the wagons and get as many other groups with similar goals on board with what we are doing as possible, such as "Yori Lives" and other fan sites and groups. I can come up with a blanket like statement for these groups explaining ourselves when I get a chance today and we can decide if everyone is cool with what it says. I think we can gather up a lot of people who would be willing to help get the ball rolling if we presented ourselves right and looked like we were on the same page.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

There's also a new site called Tron Fans
What's kinda awesome is that they actually have a Moderator named Tron. No joke

I think you are right. Someone else, on another post/thread mentioned another "Tron Night". I think a viral push for a last Tron: Legacy night would really open some eyes. We really could use some Guardian input on this idea. I know there was talk about it for Oscar night, but that may be too late for some. How hard would it be for all to gather their Facebook, twitter, ain't it cool, etc. forces to get a viral Tron : Legacy night going.

Guardian Jay...what do you think?

By the way, you guys and gals are doing great. I have never been so excited about a sequel. I think the good sign, is the lack of NEW information on a tron 3. I don't find much when searching for information or comments from the actors that may be involved. It's gone dark, and that's a good thing.
