I recently purchased the Rinzler and Kevin deluxe identity discs. Has anyone else experience awful smell from the plastic?

When the Sam version first came out I returned it after 2 days as it was making my family sick to smell it.

These new ones I took into work and within less than 1 hour I had to stick them in a tied off bag.

Anyone else get this issue? Did it go away after a while?

Ok. Store sweep was tonight. Clearly, everyone is selling off whatever stock they have left. TRU is clearly happy to sit on all their Tron toys (and they have alot of crap left over). They made a new section in an aisle and spread the Tron section across about a 6 foot area. LOL. I'm talking like 2 throwable discs on a peg, just so there's no empty pegs. TONS of the Kevin Flynn large white lightcycles. Same with Ultimate Sams. Blah. No sales = I left.

All Targets: running low on everything. Sale is still on. One store had some Series 2 figures (Quorra and Jarvis)...and a fair amount of each of those! Everything else was selling out. NO stores had any stock in the back of Tron items. Another Target did have a few Rinzler Deluxe discs (one with and one without the battery tab). No Ultimate Clus to be found anywhere...except one that we had seen at a Walmart a couple weeks ago. It was still there, so we bought it (full price...ugh!). It doesn't look 'perfect', and it's missing the Katana, so we might return it if we find a better one later on.

Picked up the 2 Ultimate Sams at Walmart tonight that we had ordered online for in-store pickup. OMG!!!!! The guy brought out a SpinMaster box with both of them in there! Still sealed! The Sams had never seen a store shelf. I was surprised....to say the least. Even better, they both had Katanas. The couple they had at that store on the shelf didn't have the Katanas. LOL. Ridiculous.

So the line is dwindling. Ultimate Clus (at least for me) are very hard (if not impossible) to get now. We did find a 3-man lightjet at TRU (the only one), and we bought it....even though we already have 2.

Ross stores around me had diddly.

If anyone could straighten me out on the whole 'Katana' situation with the Ultimate figures, I'd appreciate it. Some have a sticker on the back covering up the details concerning the Katana. Weird. Thanks!

Sad to see the line going out...but my wallet needs a breather anyways If I can find a very nice Ultimate Clu, I'll be happy. I'd also like another white deluxe ID...but I have enough.

Got my ultimate Clu last week. Of the 4 I saw at retail, none had the katana... all had the sticker on the back covering that statement.

Hmm. This is bizarre. The TRU Ebay setup advertises the Katana with the Ultimate Clu. I will check when I get them. Not sure why some of these Sams/Clus have Katanas and some don't. ???

Ah that explains it. I was lucky to get some of those 'early' Sams at Walmart.com then! Wish they wouldn't have deleted the item. It's one of the coolest weapons they come with.

I see what you mean by 2 per case, too. When I picked up that SpinMaster box at Walmart, there were 2 Ult. Sams in it, with a piece of tissue paper between them. Seems weird to ship them only 2 to a box...but whatever.

Some Target's are low on stuff, others are somewhat filled. Stores are choking on the Kevin Flynn white light cycle. Did see a deluxe Rinzler disc on the peg amid all the Sam's though

I can understand if they wanted to do 12 inch OR 7 inch to have a bigger, more technologically advanced product on the shelves, but having both scales was overkill. Especially when the feature was exactly the same on the 7 inch as it was on the 12. Personally I couldn't care less for any of the extraneous BS and just bought the core line and an Identity Disc, and the majority of interested buyers probably felt the same way. Agree x10. As far back as I can tell (which isn't too far, but I have the aids of toy collector books) 3-4" figures have been the best-selling lines. GI Joe and Star Wars have been around for decades, and they've stuck to that. I feel that if you're gonna do multiple scales for a franchise, it should be split up between companies. I know that would require other companies to actually show interest, but all the same, the 6" would have been more interesting if they were handled by a company with a better track record for 6" series. Same with the Ulitmate figures... 2 12" figures seems like a waste of plastic. Why not give them to a company with a history of good 12", or better yet, just leave it to a collectors company that's going to sell directly to those that are interested, rather than clogging shelfspace for the 1 in every 50000 kids who actually wants one? I dunno. Toy economics mystify me.
