so this is tron 2???? i don't remember the first one but i had heard of tron beffore. i looked this up becasue i deliver water to the film studios where they film this movie in vancouver. the place is a giant warehouse buzzing? with people seting up blue sets and crazy lights. should be a cool movie!!!

I really wonder what he means by crazy lights...man, I can't wait for July.

I found this really juicy detail about the costumes from a May post on IMDb forums:

They were filming second unit (on location) scenes a month ago, and I understand (from a friend who works on set) they have been filming inside the studio in Burnaby last couple of weeks. And apparently filming is falling a bit behind schedule, partly due to it taking actors three hours to get into costume and two hours to get out.

These must be some fantastic costumes if it's taking them three hours to get into. Is there major makeup involved? Are they going to have like a hybrid of motion capture ball and lights sewn into the costumes?

It would really suck if they're getting really behind schedule which would mean they would have less footage for Comic Con...man, I hope that doesn't happen.

A couple of small bits of news. Nothing too exciting, though.

Over at collider.com, they say that there should indeed be a new trailer for the sequel at Comicon. But we already pretty much knew that.

I was worried that because of the Disney D23 Expo, that Disney might hold back news about TR2N at Comicon and save it for the Expo. But it looks like they may not do that.


Jeff Bridges was just interviewed on a Vancouver radio station, and videos of his visit have been posted online.

Each part is an hour long. I'll save you from watching them, by saying that he speaks very little about TR2N.

In the first part, he says they're wrapping up filming in the middle of July (again, we already knew that) and he explains the inspiration behind this drawing he did . . .



He says that he got the idea for this drawing from the Cardboard Tron fan video, the one where we saw the Light Cycle matches re-created in stop-motion using cardboard.

In the second part, he briefly mentions that the filming process on the sequel is very different from the first. Basically, he's saying that despite how futuristic the first film looked, the difference between the technology then and now being used to make the sequel is incredible.

He's a great actor and we've all been hoping he'd get a chance to do a movie like TRON and get the recognition he deserves.

Because Disney seems to be going out of their way to squash any news or leaks about the sequel. The actors already signed on long ago, but we're just hearing about it now.

I've seen photos and some bits of sequel news "mysteriously" disappear recently. I even removed something on my site at the request of someone working on the film, because that person told me their job was on the line for leaking it by accident.

That's why we've had such a dry spell of news. Disney doesn't like the fact that we've already learned so much about the sequel, this far in advance.

I expect the dearth of news to continue until Comicon. Disney wants to be in control of what press we see and hear about the sequel.
