You and I both will be loving it when it comes out. I just hpe that they make it well and bring up the bar like they did with the original film when they made it. I know the times are different than it was way back when. But being the originators of introducing the CGI effects into the film in a good way of course that will compliment the movie and the what nots.
P.S. I know it is wishful thinking over here. And I am setting the standards very high on it. I guess that is just the programmer part of me when it comes to things like this.

I just hope recognizers aren't ruined in the film. I don't want them streamlined to look "aero-dynamic" or anything. I want them to appear just like they did in the original, have the same sounds, and have the same function, too. No decomissioned "tugs" (or transports, or whatever) a la Tron 2.0.
Well, that's not all I hope for, but still.

So if Micheal's character is something from the computer world that means he's going to be ..... hmmmmmmm.
Assuming the characteristics of his talents, and if it's a character from the original Tron he's | The MCP YA! or Sark rezzed back in to the digital world. |
I think there's gotta be something evil made by the MCP, which could be his new role. Don't click my spoiler if you are not a TRON fan...
If there are characters from Tron 2.0 he could be | Dillinger, who digitized into the computer world to escape from the police and the humiliation - and would set up flynn from inside much easier than outside. Thus we see the Fcon plot enter in, I agree that's a good idea! Or an ICP - Kernel who needs a facelift to bring the roles to above expectation, or maybe Thorne, whom would be totally BADASS in a movie. Seriously there's probably not going to be that much history... ok I'm gonna cry. haha |
I'm fine with a new character too. And I agree w/ you guys, Michael Sheen in Tron would be awesome.
Seriously, you guys need to make red easy button for what Tron.dll req'd. for spoiler content lol! just a window.

I just watched Frost/Nixon last night, if Sheen is in TR2N that's awesome. His performance of David Frost was fantastic.

According to an article on the National Ledger (scroll to the bottom) and elsewhere, actor James Frain has joined the cast of the TRON sequel.

To bad there isn't much new news about the movie.
The NDA are very very strict I guess. And Disney seesm to have clamped down on any possible leaks of info from the production crew...

I just discovered something neat. Olivia Wilde is going to be in " Year One" an adventure comedy directed by Harold Ramis. Ramis is the director of Caddyshack, which we all know started Cindy Morgan's career. It's interesting that two actresses that had/are going to appear in a Tron movie both had early roles in movies directed by Harold Ramis.
Also, in a interview with The Daily Beast, Wilde talks about Tron 2 a little bit (no new details):
