There's a rerference to Iron Giant in "The Incredibles", hehe.
I'd have to say I Robot, too. Don't watch too many robot movies.

I remember something called Gigantor - a japanese production about a kid and his giant robot that flew. It wasn't animated and I'd guess it was from the 70's.

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

Oh man... favorite?
That's a tough one. I've seen cool movies with robots in them that I've pretty much forgotten over the years. I can't remember them all.
My off-the-cuff response would probably be Star Wars. Ok, that wasn't a robot movie so much as it was a sci-fi/fantasy movie with robots in them (or droids), but I was really fascinated with the droids in that film when I first saw it as a kid. They were some of the most believable robotic characters I had ever seen at the time.
Silent Running is one of those films that I don't remember enough of to comment on the robots in that. Actually I'm due for another watching of that. It's literally been more than 20 years... possibly close to 30? Saw it on TV as a kid.
I didn't care for the robots in The Black Hole as a kid, but I dig them now. Ok, Maximillian was cool even back then, but I felt V.I.N.Cent and Old B.O.B. were too cartoony looking as a kid - especially after seeing the realism of the droids in Star Wars. Got a little choked up over Old B.O.B. though. Poor little guy. Not my favorite robot flick though.
The cylons in the original BSG were awesome! But... that was TV.
Blade Runner... am I the only sci-fi geek who didn't care for that film? It did nothing for me. I remember watching it several years after it came out, and wondering why so many people loved it when it was over. Nothing against the film or its fans or anything. I just didn't care for it. I honestly don't even remember any robots in it. It left no lasting impression on me.
Westworld... I remember that being a really cool movie, but it's been so long since I saw it, I have only vague memory left of it. It's another one that I need a re-viewing of.
Terminator was brought up - ok, that just kicked ass! The first two did, anyway. Major cool robot movie (cyborg, really).
I guess I don't know my favorite. I do know that if a film has robots in it, it tends to hold a higher cool ranking in my book. But I'm sure that's true for most sci-fi lovin' geeks.

No one has mentioned Short Circuit yet. My son loves that movie.
The latest Transformers movie is a pretty exciting display of CGI animation. There are a few really cool moments in there that involve incredible robot violence.

Geeze, I could never narrow it down to just one favorite.
Iron Giant (A giant robot with a heart of gold that eats tastey metal.)
Forbidden Planet (Robby can produce 60 gallons of Kentucky bourbon, nuff said)
Short Circuit (Lets hope laser armed military robots are this friendly)
The Black Hole (Blender hand to the chest is a brutal way to die)
Robocop (Every kid needs ED-209 for a pet)
The Terminator (Nothing keeps kids awake better than a cybernetic timetraveling Arnold bent on killing you)
Silent Running (Best poker face robots ever!)
Star Wars (Little people in rolling beeping trash cans is just awsome!)where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Sketch,
Are you like me about Silent Running?
When they lose the one robot, I just want to cry.
I love that movie.
