I remember seeing a post/thread somewhere on here about this game but I couldn't find it.
I recently bought this game, and it literally blew me away.
You can't comprehend how awesome this game is until you play it all the way through, the art direction and graphics of this game are some of the best I've ever seen.
The twisted version of Wonderland and it's enhabitants will disturb and amaze you at the same time, probably the best character is the Cheshire Cat, who is now anorexic, sports an ear-ring, and speaks in riddles (sometimes of a dark nature)
Here's a fun fact: Did you know the time it took you to read this post could have been used to buy this game instead?

I feel the same way. Funny thing about me is I'm not into the Goth stuff, but this game is so amazing to me. The gfx may seem dated, but not really so. The art in Alice goes beyond the times and adds something very unique and timeless.
The musical score is very well done. It's rather repetitive but it works well in this game. I took the music files and converted them into MP3 format.
They are (or suppose to) be making a movie of this game. I've been all over the net and saw some post production pictures but I still can't get any official conformation.
Anyone who has been viewing these forums for quite sometime know that we've had a long discussion about this game... and if you haven't played it yet, I do suggest you try and find it and buy it. It's an older game (2000) but it works well in XP (for me it did) and worth every penny.

It's been confirmed that they are making a movie based off the game, and it's supposed to be coming out in 2008

This looks really cool - I can't believe I never heard of it before. Amazingly, the minimum requirements of this game are well below my aging computer's specs. It looks like I may actually be able to play it on my PC without a crappy frame rate and even at a decent resolution.
I think I'm going to have to look in to it. I love dark, twisted stuff like this!

You'll love it, it's as trippy as your videos, and twice as freaky
Sold Out Software publish this game now for an insanly cheap price (I got it over here for like 5 euro and that's including the shipping! I checked the price on Amazon.com and the cheapest they got is for 10 bucks)

Yes, it seems very interesting.
I was just poking around the internet looking for where I could get it. I found it for just over $5 USD and was just about to download it (was a download-only thing) when I realized that was JUST a strategy guide! I would not have been happy with that non-refundable purchase, even though only $5.
I poked around amazon.com for a short while, but I'm not really a fan of that site. Never bought anything there - just don't care for it for some reason.
I... just got interrupted by the wife asking for help carrying in the groceries and lost my train of thought...
Where was I...
I want the game. If anyone has time or knows of any place - is it available in a downloadable version? If not, is it still available new? I prefer not to buy used CD's for obvious reasons (even though more often than not, they are in decent condition).

Well, Amazon.com has several copies new for 10$ or over (not including shipping) as for a downloadable version, I don't think there is any.

Ordered.
You know - I really shouldn't have given in so easily like that. I mean the game looks and sounds really cool... but I have so little gaming time these days. I'm actually working my way through Tomb Raider: Legends right now, very slowly, as in I haven't even had time to turn on my GC to enjoy it in almost two weeks! Cool game through - really enjoying it, just wish I had more time for it (and gaming in general).
Anyway, this game seemed too cool to pass up. When I'll actually get to it, I don't know. You see, I have an unopened copy of Resident Evil 4 sitting two feet away from me. Had it for over a month... just no time for it. I usually won't play a game unless I can devote at least an hour or more to a gaming session, and tend to play through only one game (start to finish) at a time. Oh well. Now I've got one more cool game to look forward to.

For me. I usually game instead of watching TV unless the season of '24' and 'Lost' is on. I do watch the news, but I also watch reruns of 'Hogan's Heroes', 'Rockford Files', 'News Radio', and 'The Cosby Show'.... but when I'm not working, or working on the house, then I'm gaming... or with this girl I've been seeing.
This is a really good game to have in your library. The game is somewhat long compared to some of the newer games, but it's worth it. Plus, if you are like me, you'll copy all the 'Cat' voice samples and save them to your sounds dir. |

I rarely watch TV. For me, there's just not much of interest these days. When I do watch TV, it's usually something on the Science channel or reruns of Star Trek (any series) that I usually watch with the wife.
As for this game being long, that only adds value and interest for me. I really love a good, long game! It may take me forever to get through it, but I really enjoy games that offer many hours of game play (so long as it is good game play). I finished Zelda: Twilight Princess a little over a month ago. It took me SIX months to get through it. Mainly because I'd go weeks at a time without having time to enjoy it.
I'm looking forward to jumping down the rabbit hole in Alice. The game looks and sounds dark and twisted. And now I've got the bonus of it being a "long" game, so I'm really looking forward to it. Don't know when I'll get to dive in, but I am looking forward to it.

Thanks, but I'm fine until I get mine.
Like I said earlier - it may be some time between the time I actually receive the game and the time I finally get to play it. Time is a luxury in my life - one that I do not have much of these days.
I wish I could pause real life for a few hours each day, while I get to enjoy anything I wanted to! I miss the care-free days of being a kid, I really do.
I'm looking froward to enjoying the game though. I'm sure I'll be chiming in with some cool experiences to share once I'm finally playing it.
I hope the game is as creepy as it looks. It seems like the kind of game best played alone, at night, with all the lights in the house turned off. That's how I used to enjoy Resident Evil and Eternal Darkness the most. They were always best alone in a dark house. Nothing like getting properly creeped out during a good game!

I can think of a few parts of the game best played in the dark (The Skool level instantly comes to mind) but I'm not going to spill any spoilers for all that haven't played it where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online |

I played some of the demo, which I really liked but found the game hard. Maybe I'm just a crappy gamer, though.

The hardest parts (without giving too much away) for me was the 'Hall of Mirrors' (because I kept getting lost) and the first part of the Hell levels.
The end is hard and takes a lot of concentration the first time you play it.
I have to say that the replay value of Alice is amazingly high.

I absolutely love this game. Love it more than pie.
O_O did I just say that? Yeah..I love it more than pie.
And Gary Numan.
Combined.
I really hope they don't screw up the movie for me...:/

They should get Tim Burton to direct the movie, seeing as the game looks inspired by his stuff.

Although it is much like Tim Burton's goth style, I'm not really sure if he would be good to direct this one. Tim has an issue when it comes to doing remakes. 'Planet of The Apes', 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' and 'Sleepy Hallow' are good examples. Although those films were well done (in my opinion), none of them really stuck true to the original stories and many people had issues with them after their releases.
However, he kicked ass with 1989's 'Batman'... but failed to live up to it during 'Batman Returns' and 'Batman Forever'.
Well... I could be wrong, it's just how I see it.
