It is, at this moment, actually snowing.... and staying on the ground.
You have to understand, I live in a desert and have not seen snow falling and sticking for quite a few years now

It wasn't so cool this morning trying to get to work. This city completely fell apart and I couldn't cross any bridge to actually get *to* work.
*muses*, I guess that's not TOO bad |

A British winter without snow would just be... wrong! I can't remember a year that it hasn't snowed (although I don't have a very good memory ).
And I just found a ladybird/ladybug in my room!

I lived in Arizona for a very brief stint when I was about 2. Believe it or not, I remember several things. One of them was the heat and cracks in the dirt roads near where I lived. Snow? Accumulation? That MUST be a very rare occurrence!

We're so used to driving in snow, slush, and ice around these parts, that several feet of accumulation is nothing more than an annoyance to most of us. Pretty much nothing closes unless the snow comes down too fast (faster than the heavy-duty snow plows can clear the roads). No one enjoys driving in the snow, but is part of the game around here.

*sigh*
I want a nice snow here in Tennessee. Nothing major, just a nice layer that doesn't melt by the end of the day and enough to make a little snowbot in my lawn.
Just imagine getting caught in a ice slick like in this Portland video. Yikes!
Nice photos Boingo. https://www.flickr.com/photos/blue_bezel/ |

Cool Literally.
Seriously, that's awesome. I've only seen snow once, but it was really dirty and it made some really nasty slush balls.
EDIT: Crazy video, Sketch! I like this one too.

Snow on cactus... o.O
Wow.
Anyway, where I am right now, everything is covered in snow. Driving sucks though because my street is still chock full of snow and ice (waaah!) so trying to get to the highway to work really sucks majorly.
(Highways are much safer than the city streets, what is wrong with this picture?)

I've been waking up to single digit temperatures for about two weeks now... *diez adn iz ded* XP
I'm quite pleased with the snow so far. The last few years have been pretty dry here, so having a yard full of snow has been really nice. Well, so long as I don't have to shovel it out of the driveway (that's what fathers and younger brothers are for!).
And the snow on a cactus? That's one of the most surreal things I've ever seen. Salvador Dali must be behind it somehow.

We had a nasty freeze last night. No more snow, but LOTS of ice and frost.
I guess I can remember back to this in July when it hits 112 or so |

Snowed on and off most of the day here.
I didn't take the time to snort any of it through a straw though. You know - been there, done that.
There's supposed to be a few more inches of accumulation by drive time tomorrow morning. Joy.
I think the wife and I might make a snowman together this weekend though. Can you believe we’ve been married more than 11 years and have YET to do that together?

Snow on a cactus?! Wow. And I thought the weather here was weird. I'm in Utah, and we normally have like maybe a teensy _smidge_ of snow each winter. This year, however, we had some actual inches, multiple snowfalls and (gasp!) a white Christmas! That hasn't happened since...I don't know...at least 2000? Not in my town, anyway.
We have some snow now...it's not new, but it's been cold enough to where it doesn't melt, either. This place isn't _quite_ a desert, but it's hot and dry enough to where this is pretty rare.

We actually didn't get that much here in the Cheese State (Wisconsin, for you lactose intolerant people). We have about 8 inches right now, but we didn't get snow until about a week ago. It has been really cold, though.
