$239 a night?! And that's 1984 dollars! Funny clip.

My family just got a gaming computer from a good friend of ours and I'm currently moving bitmap files that my brother wants to keep from the Windows 95 onto this computer I using now. Oh, did I mention I was doing this using only FLOPPIES!!! TALK ABOUT SLOW!! It's so slow I wrote a song about how much floppies suck.

Ooooooh...
Floppies really suck
There slower than a duck
I rather get run over
By a big fat stupid truck!

Floppies are really bad
They're driving me mad
I wish I could destroy
All the floopies 'til I'm glad!

*begin rockin' guitar solo*

Oooooh,
FLOPPIES SUCK!
FLOPPIES SUCK!
FLOPPIES SUCK!
Did I mention that they suck?
FLOPPIES REALLY SUCK!

Glad that's over.

Hey - about 9 years ago, in 1998, I was doing a very similar thing - saving all my old bitmap images (made when MSPaint was still called Paintbrush) to a single floppy, to transfer from our Windows 3.1 computer (which we got about a year earlier from our uncle John) to a Windows 95 computer (which we were soon going to get from our uncle Terry).

This was before I'd even heard of the term to 'burn' a CD - and I quickly ran out of space on one floppy. So, I did the most technologically cool and awesome thing I'd done to date - I bought some floppies! 10 different colour ones!

I haven't used a floppy in years. Sometimes, one of my original multicoloured floppies will turn up, but I have no use for it.

Wow, 1998 doesn't sound that far away, but it was 9 years ago!

Yeah, the floppies here at home just sit and collect dust. But whenever I need them I have to borrow my dad's portable Floppy USB drive so I can use them with the XP (the computer that I'm using now).

Man, we're showing our age! LOL

Seriously, I know exactly what you mean. Time flies anymore.

BTW, as a request from my little brother he wanted me to put up some clips from the Simpsons:

It came with my horrid Packard Bell computer I bought in 1994. I was SO jazzed to play CD-ROM games at the time, but the machine kept crashing on both Megarace and Myst. What a POC. I'm glad Packard Bell decided to leave the US market. Good riddance!

Wow! I'm glad I'm not the only MegaRace fan here! Go Lance Boyle!

It's my very first video game, so it's very special to me. I got it with my parent's very first computer (A $2,000 Packard Bell from 1994). Man, that computer sucked. I remember as a little kid, freaking out when MegaRace would crash.

One thing I love the most from MegaRace was the music. Whenever I hear the "NewSan" theme, I just want to crank the knob and start dancing!

And who could forget Lance Boyle?

"Hi, I'm Lance Boyle and people often wonder if I'm real."
"Step on it, baby, before it steps on you!"
"Magical Maeva didn't have any vicious speed-gangs, so we spent quite a lot fo money and got one!"

I remember a friend who bought a Packard Bell. The case was tombstone-shaped, which was very appropriate. Because a short time later it died. It was indeed, a POS.

Oh yeah, it's a really memorable game. The music and the lines from Lance Boyle were equally memorable, as well.

Since you jogged my memory about the game, I did a little searching and found out there were two more Megarace games! I had no idea. Megarace 2 and 3. Both had the Lance Boyle character return, apparently!

Yeah, I found out about the two sequels recently and I bought them on eBay, but compared to MR1 they both suck. His acting is okay and the gameplay is so-so, but I miss the classic futuristic style that the first game had. Here is an example of Lance Boyle in MR3:

Wow, yeah. His acting is a bit over the top in that MR3 clip. I liked his delivery in MR1, which was more straighforward. Not to mention that hair . . .
