yah that is pretty close to perfection!!!
As to the 5 minute trailer  Well its been toseed around the idea in Fan Fiction sections and i know meatsck is very keen on this with your CGI skills i think that all well CG could be done!
We had tossed around the idea of using lithechs engine and cost was a factor of course..
As for me i have been compiling ideas off this site into bullet form for a full blown story. Just point form but the idea is to compile what i liked from all the stories and rants and summarize them. That's some excellent stuff there, Traahn.
Your talents would definately not go unappreciated if you were to animate some exterior/vehicle scenes for User Error or TRON:Resistors.
Let me know if you have the time/interest and I'll hook you up with a few scenes to work on.

Traahn - that was a cool recognizer animation!
I love the sequence you chose to animate - I let out a scream like Clu the first time I watched it! 
I clearly remember that sequence in TRON as a kid, when I first saw it. I remember how menacing those strange looking recognizers were - and how cool it was, the way the moved and all. When their legs came together like that, I imagined anything under them would be flattened in to spare bits. The way they looked and moved... and the whole new world of 3D computer animation - it was all so very cool!

Me too, except I thought that Clu had been smushed. I was a little confused later when he's OK (for a minute, though) standing in front of the MCP.
Later I realized that the "smushing" of the reco is symbolic and that they apprehend people that way, not kill them.

Yes, I'm still kinda confused how Clu didn't get smushed there in that scene  There's even the solid sound of digital metal hitting a solid surface. Thus any program there would've gone, smoosh! (or, "derezzzzmoosh!") But alas... Clu survives!
And I've also wondered why that Recognizer on the light cycle grid lifts his feet up first before slamming down to try and hit the escaping light cycles. Maybe it's the crushing action which does derez the programs, but then the recognizer itself can recompile the code that is being scattered and therefore "capture" the program.

Sorry - that just cracked me up.
Yes, I too thought that the recognizer basically crushed and derezed Clu. When Clu was shown later, I figured that the recognizer could somehow probably derez the tank (or whatever vehicle) and snatch up the program inside. I'm not sure exactly how, but I just figured that's how they worked.
All I know is that if I ever get digitized and see a recognizer coming for me, its legs rolling inward - I'm NOT sticking around to find out what happens!

Well, aside from trying to whack down blackberry bushes today (dang, those things SUCK!), I thought I'd update my recognizer with a search light. This is just a test, but I like how it's turning out so far. I'll try to render an animation of it...

Thanks Cueball! I actually just rendered half the video just now (after 2 hours of rendering) and hit "Abort" because I was anxious to see what it was going to look like... LOL. I hate how long it takes to render these things! Now I will go to sleep and by morning my short video, which I have to start over in rendering, will be done. Yayy!! I won't be able to upload it until tomorrow night probably, but it will probably take a few days before it can be viewable here. I had a few minutes this morning, so I uploaded the search ligh video to rapidshare:

To download video:
1) Click link. Resulting page may not look legitimate, but it is.
2) There is a table at bottom of page talking about "Premium" benefits versus "Free." The bottom of table says, "Select your download." Click the "Free" button in this row.
3) Resulting page will have another table. A few lines above that table, you will see something like: " Download-Ticket reserved. Please wait 20 seconds," with the timer ticking down.
4) Once timer reaches zero, section updates and gives you the ability to select your download. Enter the code in that displays in the little text box that appears in this line: " No premium-user. Please enter *(code displays)* here: ___ . Then click the "Download" button and you should get it.
Let me know if you have any troubles with this!
Recognizer note: The light doesn't connect to his eye for some reason; I'm still working on that and a few things... hmm...
