There were a lot of requests for it in the video game newsgroups a while back and the general consensus was that the soundtrack was made up of short clips that were repeated. I think someone posted the intro song at one point and I may have it lying around somewhere. I'll check for you.

I havent popped the X-Box disc in my computer yet to see if there are any extractable formats yet though. I can't answer about the PC version.

In my Tron 2.0 folder, I have access to many game music scores and sound WAV files. Some of the music pieces are a full 2-3 minutes long (e.g., intro music, cutscenes, etc.). I can't remember how I got access to them, but I think it was through some sort of REZ extracter program called WinREZ LT -- since I remember a lot of the Tron 2.0 files being in REZ format. The download was free, to my recollection:

If they came out for a soundtrack for that game, I'd buy it even though I still haven't played it! (Probaly has some good stuff on it.)

I would think something would exsist. I recall looking in very fine print in either the CD silks or the game manual that the sounds were in MP3 format. But I would think that it would be embedded somewhere in those game files.

Disclaimer: I'm not responsible for any PC or Tron 2.0 issues you might encounter with what I write below. It worked for me, so I'm just letting you know what I did to hopefully help you.
Instructions on Getting Access to Tron 2.0 Music (.WAV files):It has been a long time since I did this, so forgive me if a couple things go wrong when you try... but I think this is how I'm able to listen to many of the Tron 2.0 audio/music files. (UPDATE: sherm4040 tried it and it worked.) Note: You must first install WinRez LT. http://www.blackangel-software.com/Tools/WinRez.html
Open WinRez LT. Go "File > Open" and then browse to your Tron 2.0 folder (e.g., C:\Program Files\Buena Vista Interactive\Tron 2.0).

Hopefully you see some .REZ files in there somewhere. If you don't see them in the main Tron 2.0 folder, try looking in some of its subfolders. You'll hopefully see a file that's named something like "Sound.rez" or something similar. Open it into WinRez. From WinRez, shift-select all the folders that are in it (e.g., Music, SND, Voice), click the Extract icon (red arrow pointing to the right) and put them into a folder of your choosing. Close WinRez LT. Now just navigate to the folder on your hard drive where you stored these extracted folders to. Within these folders, your treasures await.

I think I extracted mine to the Tron 2.0 folder before, and I haven't had any gameplay issues. If you want to be safe, maybe just extract them to a new folder on your desktop or something. You should be able to rename files however you want. Note: Some of the music files are split up into different files. I've heard of programs that allow you to piece together fragmented media files. In fact, sherm4040 used a program called "Cool Edit Pro" to successfully piece together fragmented Tron 2.0 music files.

Couldn't you create a new folder under somewhere far away from the origional Tron files and copy and paste the tron files from the game in there? That might lessen the chance of the game screwing up.

That's why I mentioned this:
If you want to be safe, maybe just extract them to a new folder on your desktop or something.
I've had all the files in my Tron 2.0 folder for a long time now with no issues. Of course, I haven't changed the file names or tried to merge fragmented music pieces. If I wanted to do all of that, I'd probably extract (or move) them to a different folder on my hard drvie; but I'm not sure it matters. (The game still probably just continues to read the original (non-extracted) .REZ file.)

All of the music clips are separated into different folders. I just wanted to hear them the way they were played in the game.

What do you mean, sherm4040? Are you wanting a chronological playing of the tunes in the order they were presented in the game? I don't think this is available anywhere. Of course, someone with lots of time on their hands could probably (theoretically) use Cool Edit Pro or something to piece fragmented music together, and then generate a chronological play list of all the music in the game, and listen to them.

It's been a long time coming (5 months!) but I did the impossible and used a music editing program to piece together the hundreds of music clips to make the music in the game. I am still having some problems posting them on the internet. May have something to do with size or maybe just the way I'm coding it is wrong. But, it was worth the effort because they sound awesome. I'll post something when I get some on the internet.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Sherm, just a bit of friendly advice. If BVG or Disney find out you've posted parts of the soundtrack from Tron 2.0 online, they may come after you and ask you to remove them. That's part of the reason why no one has ever really put parts of the soundtrack online for download, yet.

I'm not trying to be mean or anything. I just don't want to see someone get into trouble.

I wasn't going to let people download it. Does that make a difference?

Yes, I believe so. Instructions should be okay.

Let's just say I was contacted by BVG/Disney once, and asked to remove intellectual property related to Tron 2.0: or else I'd have to face the music.

Sorry for the bad pun.

So should I contact someone and get permission and/or give "instructions"?

Just go ahead and post instructions, with a warning that people keep the resulting soundtrack to themselves.

As long as people legally purchased and own their copy of Tron 2.0: making their own soundtrack CD that they privately listen to, is their own business and not BVG's.
