If you break up with a girl because she said she didn't like Tron...>.>
(well, it wasn't the main cause, but it was a strong element...>.>)
If in any chat room you go in, you still refer to yourself as a user and speak from the program's point of view.

TheReelTodd Wrote:loved it at the time themselves. Of course things look kind of funny looking back, when compared to what is "hip" and "cool" now. Then again, I tend to think what is "hip" and "cool" now (not the quotes) is actually laughable right now, today! To me the 80's were a great time. And I don't look back laughing AT it, I look back and laugh at some of the things about the 80's, but I LOVE the 80's and FONDLY remember all the cool stuff about it.
These days, sadly, it has become *cool* to make fun of anything that is no longer in style. That is how some people seek to gain attention and "cool points" with their audience - whether it be a comedian, or someone just telling jokes with their friends. But it's a load of crap. People MY age (and close there to) who make fun of the 80's are most likely those people who LOVED the 80's and EVERYTHING about the 80's UNTIL they became concerned if people might laugh at them for liking the 80's, so they protect themselves by making fun of it themselves. They should grow a backbone and not be afraid to admit THEY used to dig it and probably still do, but keep it in the closet.
Did that make any sense?
As for me - I poke fun at the 80's with a very fond memory of it. BUT I don't appreciate those idiots who MAKE FUN OF the 80's and all about it. They should really get a clue... because just take a snapshot of them (and pop-culture) today and watch as people make fun of it 20 years down the road. Get it?
People should not be afraid to admit to loving what's not considered out of style.
One of my favorites is when people make fun of 80's music. They're the same idiots who JAMMED to it and LOVED it back then!
I love the 80's. What a great time it was. And let us not forget that it was that cool decate that spawned out favorite past time as well -
Oh - sorry for rambling on about that OT bit there.

in the words of a bit: YES! YES! YES!
I couldn't have said it any better myself(actually, I could have, but I'd have gotten really angry and said some really off-color things, and we don't want that, haha)
Seriously, I am so stuck in the 80s it isnt even funny. Everytihng about that decade was wonderful: the music, the movies, the TV, the cartoons, the pop culture, life in general. It was a magical time, and sadly, nothing will ever be that good again. Not only do I look back fondly upon it, but I live my life as if it's still 198X.
I wish I had a time machine....

In my memory, the 80's where a time when time didn't pass so quickly as today. A time when you could say "I love ....." without being called a freak! A time when people were more tolerant towards each other.
Sigh.. of course in those days there were things too which weren't .. nice.
But life made more sense back then _____________________________________

Man, I wish I had lived in the 80s, not just for Tron mind you. Because of the internet, not that it's a bad thing, but it's destroyed my life and I'll never know how. If there weren't computer PCs that everyone could use and, well, always used, I might have a life, a couple of really good friends, I might be able to leave my house at least once a month (I have never been able to leave my house to just go somewhere), heck, maybe I'd have a girlfriend. Even trying to live like a person did in the 80s isn't easy since nobody else does. My generation doesn't know a world without computers, and I wish we did. Maybe things will change when I go to college...abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion

Depends what you go to college for
I just finished with my degree (in computer engineering, incidentally) and overall I've turned from game nerd to electronics/robotics nerd... which in that sense is a step up, because sometimes you have to go outside e.g. trawl a swamp looking for your autonomous vehicle that died in there.
Anyway....

You don't like Need For Speed: Most Wanted as much because it doesn't have anything to do with (which I am guilty of...). ------------------------------------------------------

You keep hoping that for some reason the National Treasure movie series will make a reference...and you'll end up liking the movies even more.

((Guilty
I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna get one even, but I've already decided.))
OO! AND ANOTHER ONE!
Every time you listen to Aphex Twin, it reminds you that you should really get to trying to finish a TRON fanfic you started ages ago. ==

Well, if you replace "Automatically" with "floor activated switch under carpet" and "Smoke Machine" with "Hair dryer filled with Talcum" and "Laser Cone" with "Torch with Green Cellophane" then it's more for real....
The floor activated switch was so someone would witness it, when they came in, and in this case, turned the light off, after being called in to turn the lights off.
And the computer terminal was a Panasonic JR-100 computer in my bedroom, with the MCP conversation on it.
And I threw my arms back and yelled something like "The MCP has me!"
After the initial shock, my mum was pretty unhappy with the mess I made. Talcum does that.
I didn't have a laser back then, but I had visited a laser show and played with torches and lenses a lot. I didn't have a smoke machine either.
I wouldn't have a real laser until I started disassembling old dragon's lair machines 5 years later and taking the HeNe lasers out of them with the two optical transducers, which made very nice red cone shapes (and more, when plugged into a stereo feed) in the presence of smoke, dust etc...
And that one was behind my chair, ironically, though I can't remember if I did a repeat performance all those years later, and definately no talcum. (That one was attached to a computer though).
