When you look over the highways from a bridge and see the trucks and cars pass by underneath you and think that the highways are like circuit board patterns. You might be a tron fanatic.

*Shrugs*. I don't think the general public would be all that interested in inside Tron jokes. That's why we have the wonderful I/O forums here
I think if anything, it would turn into a poking fun of Tron fans, making them look like geeks and idiots. That's what the general public wants. Look at the I love the 80's shows on VH1. It's all about how stupid the 80's were and how above it that dude from "Ed" is.
Or maybe this is just my own jaded opinion

I look at those shows as "Look how cool the 80s were, and who are all these talking head idiots putting them down?"
That guy from Ed is the biggest asswipe of the bunch. How is it that losers offering their opinions matters in any way shape or form? DaveTRON

"I Love the 80's" on VH1. If I'm flipping through channels on TV and catch an episode of that, I'll usually camp there for a while. I LOVED the 80's, and I enjoy watching them talk about it. They make fun of it and crack jokes, but I think it's more of a poking fun of themselves (having lived through the 80's themselves) kind of thing (in general). I tend to see those shows as poking fun WITH the 80's more than slamming it... if that makes any sense.
Now, there are others who poke fun at the 80's and make it sound like we were all a bunch of idiots for ever loving the things we loved in and about the 80's. I think people who MAKE FUN of the 80's are real idiots - ESPECIALLY if they lived in the 80's and loved it at the time themselves. Of course things look kind of funny looking back, when compared to what is "hip" and "cool" now. Then again, I tend to think what is "hip" and "cool" now (not the quotes) is actually laughable right now, today! To me the 80's were a great time. And I don't look back laughing AT it, I look back and laugh at some of the things about the 80's, but I LOVE the 80's and FONDLY remember all the cool stuff about it.
These days, sadly, it has become *cool* to make fun of anything that is no longer in style. That is how some people seek to gain attention and "cool points" with their audience - whether it be a comedian, or someone just telling jokes with their friends. But it's a load of crap. People MY age (and close there to) who make fun of the 80's are most likely those people who LOVED the 80's and EVERYTHING about the 80's UNTIL they became concerned if people might laugh at them for liking the 80's, so they protect themselves by making fun of it themselves. They should grow a backbone and not be afraid to admit THEY used to dig it and probably still do, but keep it in the closet.
Did that make any sense?
As for me - I poke fun at the 80's with a very fond memory of it. BUT I don't appreciate those idiots who MAKE FUN OF the 80's and all about it. They should really get a clue... because just take a snapshot of them (and pop-culture) today and watch as people make fun of it 20 years down the road. Get it?
People should not be afraid to admit to loving what's not considered out of style.
One of my favorites is when people make fun of 80's music. They're the same idiots who JAMMED to it and LOVED it back then!
I love the 80's. What a great time it was. And let us not forget that it was that cool decate that spawned out favorite past time as well -
Oh - sorry for rambling on about that OT bit there.
