Convention's over, and. I made a complete and total ass of myself in speaking with David Warner oh dear sweet jesus what have I done. I also didn't really get a decent photo with him in costume, BUT I CRASHED HIS PANEL WHICH I'M SURE SOMEONE IN THE WORLD HAS ON VIDEO AND I GUESS THAT COUNTS FOR SOMETHING?

I also never finished it, rushed the helmet out in 20 minutes, and now the outfit has incurred various damages that render it unwearable. Augh.
I'll have it patched up and good to go 100% come NYCC/NYAF in October for anyone else on the east coast that wants to say hi and nerd out, though. :V
inxthexunblind - The circuits on the arm warmers, leg warmers, unitard, and [invisible] hood are screen printing foil - as are the front of my manpanties, which despite working on test runs with swatches, did not work at all on my final and ate and melted the vinyl hnng.
It creates a very nice look when it wants to, but it is very, very, very finicky and tedious to apply - but herp derp, I did all of this with a clothing iron instead of a professional heat press, which is about 100 degrees cooler than the suggested application temperature, so ¯\(°_o)/¯
The circuitry on the vinyl and prop pieces are just metallic vinyl stickers, because I had two days to finish and absolutely no time to derp around with getting the screen printing foil to cooperate with the vinyl. They held up decently enough considering, but. Stickers.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

you did a really good job with it! But I might just stick with the tape since its easily cuttable and such. Only probably is after a period of time it starts to peel. Have had that problem with my retro Tron costume

As I posted in the thread about custom discs, Im making a re-purposed Quorra costume complete with a self-modded yellow EL wire / white LED disc and yellow EL Tape on my person. The disc is almost done and next it is onto applying the tape to my costume which is already put together.
I hope it ends up working out The disc is definitely awesome and hope the costume turns out as well. I have heard of 2 methods to attach the EL tape to the fabric -- simple velcro and E6000 craft glue. Anyone have any experience with either or recommendations?
I cannot wait for Halloween!
EDIT: Here are some photos so far of the disc
End of Line.

You can't leave us hanging, BL. What happened??? I had forgotten Warner was there since everyone on youtube so far were talking Shatner, Stewart and even Mulgrew over anyone else, so far anyway.
Forget it, Mr High and Mighty Master Control. You aren't making me talk.

Nice job on the disc, Aerial! That looks fantastic!
From what I've read on the RPF, using velcro is helpful if you've designed your costume to be washable. That way, you can remove the electronics and throw it in the washer. If that is not a concern, then the E6000 is a more permanent solution.
Whichever route you take, be sure to post pics when you're done!

Aerial, where did you get the yellow EL tape you're using for your costume? I was toying with the idea of making Clu's robe, but wasn't sure who sold yellow EL tape. I know LightTape sells it, but they're pretty expensive. I didn't know if you had found a more economical retailer for it.
I had also thought about using white EL tape, since that's fairly common, with a yellow gel film over it, but I'm now sure how it would look.

Aeriel, your disc looks perfect!! I love it! I love how you didn't do the outer ring (because in the movie, when its on their backs there is no outer ring! I noticed that too,) I contacted the studio you mentioned. They are super nice, I mentioned not doing the outer ring and they didn't seem to go for that idea. The only other thing is I would like both sides of the inner C to light up, yes I realize one is facing your back, but I think its supposed to light up too)
Anyway, how long did it take you to make that? And... would you be tempted to make another one? :-) where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

I am still trying to get that actually LoL Im getting some samples and will order so I have all my supplies by the last weekend in September (since my Dad's coming back to visit to help me with it then).
The pre-made yellow from LuminousFilm is a sickly yellow-green (like a Virus) and not enough of a Clu color to me. I have just ordered a sample of their orange to see if it's a closer match. Their prices are pretty reasonable - more than Glowhut but less than LightTape.
I have also just ordered a sample of the pre-made yellow from Glowhut. Good news is they seem to be way more economical if the color works out
I am also in the works on trying to get a sample from LightTape (the entire order from these guys would be $185!) I will update when I know more from them.
I will let you guys know which tape color turned out better; I am getting nervous that I will have to order the pink off / white on from LuminousFilm and then get the Clu-yellow gel filter from a company where my Dad lives. I have no idea how to attach the filter to the EL Tape but from what the filter lady says its easy, like you can glue it. Im going to double check if I have to go that route.
Also, anyone here know if its possible or how hard it would be to connect the separate pieces of EL Tape back to the inverter/battery pack? I was originally thinking I could use like copper stereo wires soldered to the back of the tape with enough slack and secured between my under-layer and the outer costume layers. I was hoping to just buy it bulk (12ft) and then cut it myself to size and connect each piece to the inverter/battery instead of them cutting each to size and attaching the connectors Any help and/or advice on this part is greatly appreciated and needed
This year Im doing a modified Quorra costume (what would happen if she wasn't rescued by Sam and was actually rectified becoming a "bad guy" Id love to do a robe to add too my costume for next year if this project goes well. I have a sinking feeling the robe would be tons easier than this cuz at least with the robe its larger single pieces. End of Line.

Thanks NOAA and everyone for your compliments on my disc I probably worked on it for about 5 hours total but it was a fun project I did with my Dad, and it was about $70+ for all the parts not including our labor. I am very proud of it
I think it would be feasible to add another EL Wire for the back of the ring, you would just have to dremmel it out where it could be seated in it like the other side. The inverter is definitely small enough where there could be 2 inside. The battery pack is the only issue: there may not be enough room inside to seat another pack, but there might be. It was also a mother to try to get glued in where it would stay (had to end up using hot glue for that part). You could also probably wire both strings of EL Wire to the one switch where they both would be on at the same time
Unfortunately I dont have the time to do these commercially, at least not in time for this Halloween (now Im scrambling to get the lights on my costume, uggh). If I did, I would have to charge about $200 probably for the parts and labor (I got a lot of parts free and of course my labor was free). I think Aradani Studios does them for only $150 though Actually it wasnt nearly as hard as I thought it would be; you could buy the parts and mod it yourself or with a friend Also, if you just modded the C-ring with the EL Wire would be easy as pie (The outer ring LED's were what was so frustrating ) where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online End of Line.

Here are the samples from Luminous Film: Left is orange, right is yellow. Sadly neither is right. To go with them if you are doing Clu's color like me you will need to get their white and put the gel film over it. Im waiting for the other 2 company's samples that should be arriving shortly to make my final decision. Side note: They are really nice and easy to deal with
When the other samples come in, I will post pics of the strips to hopefully help anyone else out there costuming abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion End of Line.

Just got all my samples and will be posting pics today or tomorrow LightTape's definitely shows up better on film just like in the movie but "in person" its still way to orange. Im ordering a filter today to see if maybe a yellow filter over the orange will help.

Yeah, the sample I got from LightTape (I got the Classic Natural Blue) looked fantastic, but I wasn't crazy about the lamination, it just seemed like it would be a bit unwieldy and difficult to work with. I know the effects people did have to do some post-processing on the film to get the colors right, so you likely aren't going to get an EXACT match on the color.
If I'm not mistaken, I remember reading an interview with Christine Beiselin-Clark (sp?), one of the lead costume designers on TRON: Legacy, and she mentioned that the color chosen for CLU was actually goldenrod. I think LightTape had to custom make the color for the EL strips that went on CLU's costume, the set pieces, etc., as it isn't one of their regular colors that they sell.
I hope the yellow filter you purchased works, but I'm thinking that it's just going to make it more orange and since it's a filter, it will actually reduce the brightness and luminance level of your EL tape. The way I see it, start with white and add a filter or filters to that to get the desired color. Of course, keep in mind, with each filter, you're reducing the brightness as well.
I had also ordered an EL tape section from GlowHut and I wasn't impressed at all. The light blue color was okay, but the workmanship was shoddy and the section I received had a black strip down the middle of the illuminated area in places. Maybe I just got a bad strip, but I wasn't too impressed.
Good luck on finishing your costume and I look forward to seeing your photos.

Here is GlowHut's yellow: still green but not as bad. Also "fuzzy" looking and "one size fits all". Also runs the hottest of them all.
Here is LightTape's Orange and Yellow strips: Nice width to do stuff with but colors are still off.
Here is LightTape's orange EL Tape strip closer up -- looks perfect! Too bad it only looks this good "on film". In person you look like a construction worker
Im ordering a Roscolux filter (#2003 - Storaro Yellow) to see what it looks like over the LightTape orange and yellow. I will post pics of that when it arrives, shouldnt take long as they are only 3 hours away Im also thinking of ordering a sample of the white EL Tape from them to also test w/the filter.
