Zec, there is no way to not have it stick up some unless you spent like $1000 on a suit to inlay the strips into I did the best I could...

Thanks again HooDooMan for all your support along the way In person and when off (or in bright camera light) it looked that perfect Clu yellow/orange. For some reason (and I thought so too) when lit and taking a photo without a flash it was more virus-like yellow/green. It must be the camera.

On the other hand, the orange strips looked identical to Clu's on film/camera but looked aweful in person like a construction worker lol

Still working on revisions to keep the film secure and get a better color in pictures

No problem! I'm glad to help! I think part of the reason that it looked more greenish is explained on this page:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Additive_color

Specifically, this paragraph:

"Results obtained when mixing additive colors are often counterintuitive for people accustomed to the more everyday subtractive color system of pigments, dyes, inks and other substances which present color to the eye by reflection rather than emission. For example, in subtractive color systems green is a combination of yellow and blue; in additive color, red + green = yellow and no simple combination will yield green. Additive color is a result of the way the eye detects color, and is not a property of light. There is a vast difference between yellow light, with a wavelength of approximately 580 nm, and a mixture of red and green light. However, both stimulate our eyes in a similar manner, so we do not detect that difference. "

So I think even though we are talking about "Light" Tape, it's based on the subtractive color system because there is a filter over it with a pigment, dye, or ink in it. So the color combinations due to the pigment in the filters yielded green. I could be totally wrong on this, but I think that's why most yellow EL products tend to look very green.

As far as keeping the film secure, I wonder if using some type of clear spray glue or spray adhesive would work? But it may leave air bubbles or separate from the Light Tape when it is flexed.

Yeah, I noticed in one of the behind the scenes clips, the EL strips they used in the movie didn't look like they had any lamination layer to them, or if they did, it didn't stick out a half-inch on each side. Actually, I think the EL material was screen-printed onto a type of fabric, so it wasn't nearly as stiff as the consumer-based Light Tape product the public is able to purchase. So the stuff we get is going to stick up away from the suit somewhat. You might be able to trim down the lamination on each side to see if that would help. Overall, I think you did a great job with the materials you had. It's much harder than it looks, right? LOL!
