On his nationwide syndicated program, conservative radio talk show host, Glenn Beck, made the following statement.
07/20/2011
"Tron sucked, the original tron sucked. Tron Legacy sucked...not so much."
I was very disappointed to hear this. I'm a big fan of Glenn, but I just don't see why he would make a blanket statement like that. Well, at least we have "Firefly's" Nathan Fillion.

I really don't care what he( or his ilk) think/s of TRON, and it really doesn't surprise me at all. He probably doesn't have the capacity to understand it whatsoever.

I think he was trying to be funny. I bet he has never seen either movie all the way through. Bet he loved the new Transformers movie. Now that movie sucked.

Well his shows cancelled. Most of what Beck says he doesn't mean anyways, he's playing the part.

Look, I'm not trying to bash Glenn Beck. He and I agree on a great many things. However, I am still surprised that the religious symbolism, in both movies, was lost to him. I think I might send him a letter explaining these points, along with a Blu-Ray of both Tron and Tron: Legacy. Time to give Glenn some good ol' Texas learnin'.

I like Glenn, but he isn't really an artistically driven person. My brother and Glenn would probably enjoy the same kinds of movies. Sadly enough, their were a lot of people who felt that way about the Tron movies. I guess that's why some of us got the original and became long time fans, while most saw it as a drop in the bucket. Visually, they both drew people to the theaters, but they missed the symbolism. Or just didn't agree with it. So, what was the context of the statement? Did Stu or Pat bring up that they had seen it and he made a brief comment on what he thought of it? Usually, if he's brief about something, it seems like it's his way of saying lets move on.
Some people don't put a lot of thought into why they don't like a particular movie, they just have one word that sums up what they felt as they left the theater. I guess if something doesn't appeal to a person, they don't tend to spend a lot of time analyzing why. Unless, your a film critic or a fan.

At first I thought you posted Glenn Beck's video actually bashing TRON so when watching Nathan Fillion I was starting to think Glenn Beck got really tone since his show went off air...
I'm not finding where (on the net/Youtube) aside from TRON-Sector, where he actually said TRON 'sucked'. As a conservative, I even found Glenn Beck's show on the crummy side, and quite honestly am wondering why it took so long for Fox to pull him off the air.
Did he really have to get pulled because of a comment about Obama? He's a wanna be Teacher, they should have just hired Michael Savage.
