Yesterday I made a trip to Toys R Us to see what they had left. I found they still had Sam's Deluxe Identity disc, Kevin Flynn's Light Cycle (so I went ahead and got it) And they had this Light Cycle Pursuit Set. Its like a racing thing with the light cycles. My Niece found a Disc Battle set, that you put the mini figures on and shoot discs at each other. That one is kind of fun to play with.

Oh I also picked up the Deluxe Clu with the Katana. And I have a question... he says things.. that were not in the movie.... "Flynn Lives" and "So you like bikes" I'm assuming that this was all planned and made before they were finished with Legacy. I wonder how those words were going to come into play in the story.. stupid question..

Found the rest of the diecasts I wanted today, all at the same Target (I need to use up a gift card, or I'd still be boycotting Target). Didn't particularly want Clu's command ship or the Grid limo (what the hell IS that??), but I'm wondering if I shouldn't get them just to round out the set. We'll see how the current stuff fits into my reco carrying case before I decide (I haven't de-packaged it all yet... I'm weird about that, even though I know I should).

Found Betrayal at the Borders clearance as well. Good read. Some parts, of course, not quite accurate as we've said, a little heavy-handed on the "philosophical" musings, Isos not quite sympathetic enough (IMO) but it certainly helps Clu look a bit more sympathetic (even though he's still a scumbag). Love Tron. Even more, I mean. Alternate between feeling sorry for Flynn and wanting to slap him.

Also, to be really geeky... I love Target's C9 line of workout gear. I've been wanting to get a long-sleeved running shirt, for those days when it's not really cold, but just a bit too chilly for short sleeves. I was sort of meh about what was in the women's section, so in the boys' section (which is also cheaper--$12 vs. $16.99-- and I find the men's/boys' stuff is sometimes better quality than the womens' anyway), I found one that has mesh down the sides of the torso and on the shoulders (the men's section had one that was all mesh, but I thought even the small might be too big. I like my workout shirts to be close-fitting; since they're supposed to wick sweat, it's more helpful if they actually, y'know, touch my body where the sweat is so they can wick it. The boys' large isn't too bad-- medium would've been too short in the arms, lol). The icing on this particular cake is that the fabric in the back has the Tron-like hex pattern (wish the front did too, but it's just plain)! I have no idea why. But it made my inner fan-girl happy, and was what swayed me to the black rather than the blue.

I am having visions of me running down the street, and some bad guy tries to mug me, and then he sees the back of my shirt and says "Oh shit, she's, like, Rinzler" and runs off. Yep.

Anyway if you can fit boys' sizes, or know someone who can, and are just that geeky, have a look. These are on clearance right now, in several colors-- black, red, blue, and maybe white?-- and I don't see them on the website so they must be closing them out. I found a bunch of stuff on sale at Meijer today (they were scattered around on the ends of the various isles though, which was somewhat annoying):
Deluxe figures (about $3): Sam Flynn, Clu, Black Guard, and Rinzler (x2)
Core figures (about $2.50): Black Guard (x2), Rinzler, Clu, and Jarvis
Battle Grids (about $20)
Interestingly, most of the clearance stickers weren't correct (for example, the Deluxe figures were marked as $7 when they were actually $3).

Today (well actually yesterday) I got the LEGO Star Wars Slave 1 set. Its very cool, even for $80. And yes, I know its not Tron but there are other programs that said in this thread that they got non-Tron stuff.

With the help of a friend, I finally got a Sam ID disc. Love it! I had to move a printed out , framed photo of Clu, who was not happy about losing his place of honour.

:-) he was sitting on the top of my video games drawers but got moved to the top shelf of my computer desk. Finally received my Tron Arcade + Sam figure 2 pack that I got off of eBay. Not bad at all for $10 plus shipping, considering that scalpers were originally trying to sell this for $40. O.o

Of the 'standard' figures they had five designs, and they were Clu, Sam, Rinzler, Clu's Sentry & a Black Guard. I decided to get one of each of them, and all for £10! They are now standing in a row on my bookshelf in my bedroom, next to the Die-cast Light Runner, Cycle & Recognizer. To be honest, it's the only shop in my part of the country I could find that sells them
