This is true for the Sam and Clu cycles, but the diecast Flynn cycle and Light Runner are much better.

Of the jets, I like the diecast three man one a little more since it has the clear canopy through which you can see the little seats (I'm not sure which has the more correct proportions, I think maybe the diecast), but the one man jets are about equivalent. Although, I do like the way the UK one's tiny little dude isn't wearing a helmet.

I agree that the diecast LR are superior (and I prefer the diecast jets as well) but I'd argue that the plastic KF cycle is better than the diecast KFs. If you look at the shape from the top the front window is slightly different and the rear wheel is tapered off a little more. I don't know that it's more movie accurate but based on the Sam and Clu cycles I'm inclined to give Disney the benefit of the doubt on the KF cycle.

Very small nitpicks though, I'm very happy with the diecasts that we got here. Just wish we had some classic diecasts and some tanks.

Any opinions?

I reviewed the track set on my Youtube channel around the first of the year. I liked it as the race has an unpredictable ending each time. The bikes that come with it aren't made of diecast metal, they are plastic and have two "light trails" permanently mounted on them.

I also passed on the Airhogs stuff. It always seemed to me that the wall clinging just never seemed to work quite right when I saw them demo'ed on Youtube plus I didn't care for the look of the bikes themselves.

I thought wheatking said something about a ton of stock sitting in China, if TRU (most likely) or perhaps Disney has committed to buying it, then it could see release.

Man, I need to resurrect that Toy Variations thread a while back so we have this info all in one place...

http://tron-sector.com/forums/default.aspx?a=top&id=417589

Pics of the variants are in that thread.

Thanks for the heads up.

I picked up one on the way home - the TRU's around here still have them and they are all striped. The one I got a while back was the regular one...

They had a regular one left but the card on it was trashed...

Cool I just saw an ebay auction for that. I didn't know it existed. Would love to hear some impressions when you get into it, I'd pick that up for my ds lite.

Thanks for that info. I think I'll pass on the Track Set then. I thought the bikes might be diecast. I did like the light trails...but I'll spend some money on something else. Any thoughts on the Coliseum Disc Shooter? I've never heard anyone comment on that here.

Tonight, I picked up 2 Recognizer playsets on sale at Kmart for $11.99. Just hedging my bets. When (if?) I find them for $5 at Target, the Kmart ones go back

Bummed that the 3-man lightjets at Kmart are $17.99. No way for me to return the 2 I bought from TRU.com without losing the $9 shipping I paid for them. They also only give store credit if you return it to your local store. Not really worth it to return them. Sigh.

I did find another LightRunner for $11.99 that they didn't have at that store the last time I checked (they must still have stuff in the back). This one still had the pulltab and was in very nice shape, so I picked it up. Everything else they had was on sale...but not enough for me to hit up my CC for more $$.

Hopefully we'll do some Targets tomorrow or on Sat. and find some serious clearances.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

I've got both but I haven't opened up my Track Set yet. I think I got both at Disney Store online sales. The Coliseum Disc Shooter is pretty neat, the discs do fire off pretty fast. Each holds four discs and you can replace the guys that come with it with other 2" statues so that's a nice touch. It's not essential but the two guns are a pretty nice set.

My mini-impressions in case you missed them

Today I got 4 KF lightcycles. I dismantled one, painted it and sealed it, I'll reassemble tomorrow. I learned a few things along the way, and next time, I'll use masking tape and spraypaint.

I got the track set and at first I was disappointed the other die cast light cycles aren't compatible with it. However, after a little while, I'm actually kinda glad the ones that did come with it are full plastic.

The metal ones would chip like hell!

I've stored my loose die cast toys in the spinmaster tupperware container and I'm finding more paint chipping with them being jostled around in storage than when I'm playing with them! I'm sure glad I have another set mint on card! I'm finding I prefer playing with the toys that came with the UK recognizer more than I am with the die cast ones. The paint on the full plastic ones don't chip as readily as the metal ones!!

Thanks guys for the help on the Track set and the Shooter. I think I'll pass on those altogether...even though I'm a completist.

Oh, and today I got 2 x 2-packs:
Black Guard and Jarvis
Sam Flynn + Clu

My collection of 2-packs I think is complete now. If they release them broadly in the US later, it's just gravy. At least I don't have to worry about it...which I would :/

Went to my local Target last night and picked up a Jarvis 3.75" core figure. Said Target has permanently lowered the core figure prices from $9.99 to $5.99. If anyone can help confirm that this is effective nationwide, that would be great. That same Target store also recently received a shipment of 3-Man Lightjet core vehicles (they were not carrying these previously). They did not re-supply any stock, though; The core figures and diecast racks are nearly empty, but it's nice to see them getting new products in.

Also went to my local Walmart last night. The only Tron products I could find were 2nd Gen Lightcycle core vehicles for $9 on clearance, along with Rinzler and Black Guard deluxe figures (one of each).

I have it, definitely a great GBA game. Has some really great minigames and bonus gamemodes. Has some 3D FPS bonus games and voice-overs for Tron and Mercury from Bruce Boxleitner and Rebecca Romijn, respectively. Also features bit and cheats like "play as a gridbug". There are two singleplayer stories to play through: Tron's and Mercury's.

As bonuses, the original Tron and Discs of Tron arcade games are also included. The ports are pretty faithful, but Discs of Tron unfortunately has no voice or background image.

My 1:12 scale TRON arcade machince custom from the UK.

It's pretty nice, has the original graphics on both outsides as well as the marquee and the coin slot. Also has graphics on all three 'panels' inside, as you can see one of the 'side panels' in the pic. The two minor complaints I have are that the joystick is kind of plain (although it does retain the actual shape) and that it's a bit too big for the 4" guys and a bit too small for the 7" guys. Another personal complaint would be that it's not Discs of TRON but I will check his website, he may do that one too. Overall pretty happy with it.

edit: On the auction it's listed as having a hand-painted blue joystick. Just contacted the seller about it. Damn, my run of good luck has come to an end!

No problem. As Sleepless Knight noted, if the track's bikes were metal instead of plastic they would get chipped up pretty fast with all of those collisions. It is fun seeing it in action though and it makes for a fun diversion.

I can back that up. I mentioned somewhere around here that I picked up a Quorra since they were so nicely priced. Target seems to clearance more unified across all the stores, where Walmart is a more store-to-store basis. And there's still the 1 walmart within 60 miles of my house that even carried ANY TRON merch to begin with...

Thanks CorrupTron for getting me these! I thought I was going to have to wait longer for them to arrive so it was a nice suprise especially as I've been ill since last Sunday, but annoyingly not well enough to do much with them until I get better.
