I laughed when that song came on too.

It's just funny for one reason or another.

I NEED TO SEE that movie again.

No joke., curse my late check, I want to see it again already.

FYI, Marilyn Manson isn't "Goth", silly poser-kids and idiots in the news media thinking he's "Goth" were and are sadly, very mistaken. Bauhaus, Sisters of Mercy, The Cure, and more recently Unto Ashes are "Goth", not the screamy alternative hard rock that MM sings...

"Sweet Dreams" is an awesome song and there's nothing funny about it. It's sad that kids don't appreciate good music from the 80's ffs... *face palm*abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Agreed, nothing funny about the song, I happen to like it, too.

For some reason it made me laugh.

I love '80's music even though I was born in '91.

The Cure, I've heard as being "emo" Not emo at all.

The band's good in their own right, they don't need terms like "goth" or "emo" applied to them. If anything, those terms detract from their own originality, when they aren't goth or emo at all

Yeah, I edited that out. Started thinking about it more.

I was wrong.

Personally, don't see how the Cure is goth, but I've been wrong before.

They aren't emo, that's for sure.

What were "The Human League" for that matter? New wave?

Now Shadow, as much as I love you, I gotta point out. I never said Marilyn Manson was goth....I was talking about the kids that liked his version of "Sweet Dreams". They were supposed to be Goth. But you are partially right, they were probably posers because they were just angsty and not able to express themselves, not really Goth.

MM is barely "Industrial", Combichrist and other groups are a much better example of Industrial music.

There seems to be a lot of negativity about laughing when "Sweet Dreams" starts playing. Now, I can't speak for any other laughing viewers, but I was 15 when I saw the original Tron in the theater and I loved that song. I have it on my favorites playlist and listen to it regularly. But I laughed when it started playing in T:L. Why?

Because I knew what was about to happen to Sam. So, I was thinking, Sweet Dream, or Dreadful Nightmare? I took it as a sort of ironic foreboding of what was about to happen. Maybe that's not the right description, but I think you can see what I mean...order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Ahhhh, Front Line Assembly. Many people don't realize that FLA and Delerium are one and the same. "Colombian Necktie" is a hell of a single!

Probably because most of them were 90's goth kids when Marylin Manson came out and ruined the song with his crappy version. I know how you feel, I was there too. Its fun watching kids give confused looks when you tell them that there were these big machines that played music for quarters and everyone got to listen to your selections.

I think people laugh because that song is such a quintessential '80s song, and we all remember that weird groundbreaking video (with a cow wandering around for no reason). I think it's a pleasant nostalgic laugh, rather than a derisive one. Bill Leeb. Not a fan of the guitary Millenium, but Tactical Neural Implant is classic FLA.

TacNeurImp is my favorite FLA album...

Agreed. People laughed at two of the screenings I went to during this part too. I loved the song as a kid and I still think it's cool... but it's been VERY overplayed to the point where it's almost it's own parody.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

I loved this because there's no other song that really captures the fact that Flynn's arcade was more or less frozen in time at the moment of Kevin's disappearance--the visuals got some of that across, but using THE quintessential song of the 80's to point it out as well was brilliant.

And I think people laughed because there isn't a person in the theater who didn't know *exactly* what song it was the moment the first notes played and why it was awesomely appropriate. It was definitely an appreciative laugh in my screenings

It will be interesting to see how TRON'S numbers improve for the weekend, since it's holding steady at around $6M domestic per day through the work week. Which is terrific, because that's an estimated $24M Monday through Thursday. To add to whatever happens this weekend, which is liable to be more.

I've also taken Sweet Dreams laughs to be because it's recognizably 80s. I think they're laughs of fun joy rather than displeasure or mockery of the film. That's been my experience anyways.

I love that those two songs play there. Journey's 'Only Solutions' is a lot more obscure and I don't like it as much as 'Separate Ways', so am glad they didn't use Only Solutions there.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Film critics in Britain must now have this template to re-use for a review of Hollywood crap. The off-the-assembly-line stuff that is pumped out to make money. Stuff that has as much heart in it as a finacial algorithm, with the same function as a hedgefund.

I'm sorry to break the 'Hoorah' about the film (has there been any 'hoorah'? I've been away from the forums for a while) but my review of this film would be the aforementioned template, which is probably something like this:

Great SFX - shame about there being no plot.
Terrible, horrible, cringey, and incredibly cheesy dialogue - and shame about the plot.
Quite good acting - again, shame about the plot.
Lovely sound, editing, cinematography etc - BUT SHAME ABOUT THE PLOT!

When will these people realise that a good screenwriter is worth far more than hundred million dollar production values! They have taken a cult classic from the '80s, brought it up to date, added in some lovely visual spectacles, and then turned it into a joke. It has the subtlety of Transformers with the charm of Epic Movie.

What I'm trying to say is...

It sucked balls. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

My humble little internet slice. Visit, read, comment, and laugh (with, not at I hope...)
