I have to say it is just plain awesome to see T:L break the 170,000,000 barrier! I can't wait to hear about the official greenlight for T:3.

Yeah, saw the new advert for the movie now that it is no longer number one in the box office. They are now saying "come see the christmas seasons hottest movie". So they still want us to see it. I have a feeling if we get more TRON movies it will be like with the old Star Trek franchise where the movies started coming out around Thanksgiving and December time. Fine with me, I just hope TRON never gets as bad as ST:NeMesis.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

Tron Unit Wrote:Why do people hate Nemesis? Is it because they killed Data? I really enjoyed that one. Great action and epic space battles like Wrath of Khan.

Well, I wasn't pleased that they did that but I have more important reasons. The first is the whole "time to break up the band" feel the movie had. Second..I hated the fact that Riker got Troi...Sorry, I was never a Riker lover. Worf and Troi all the way please. Third....I could feel the energy dying in the actual attempt to keep the franchise going and unfortunately this was the movie that housed that feeling. I kinda felt that way with ST5, but then they came back with a kick ass part 6 and went out with the original cast on a high note.

Never had much interest in the movies, but always loved the shows. And I just found out Data dies. Great, that's like killing Spock, only he gets revived because of the Genesis device. Yes, i saw that movie, "I've seen two out of... goodness knows how many.

That's how I felt about Insurrection. I was so bored I fell asleep. I was disappointed with First Contact because they missed the opportunity to use the Borg effectively and turned them into silly cartoon charicatures. Generations was bad for many reasons but namely for Kirk dying like a punk. Of all TNG movies I liked Nemesis the most.

I loved Generations, but I think I loved that because the time of year it came out. Plus I had graduated college a few months prior and was in my own place as a working adult and I have to admit, I was always a fan of the Next Generation cast over the Original cast.

First Contact I believe was directed better, but I agree they missed some opportunities with the Borg. And then there is Insurrection......Oh boy. I was really not happy with that but I still felt like there was hope for the franchise. Another thing I didn't like about Nemesis was Johnathan Hardy. A good actor in his own right, I just didn't feel he was good as a foil to Picard. I also think that Jude Law would have done a better job as Shinzon....Hell, now that I have really seen what Michael Sheen can do, he would have been a dynamite Shinzon.

Haha! You are right about that. I forgot about Ensign Expendables.

Not to mention, that in the original series, people who wore red uniforms were always killed off. At least 9 time out 10.

A really good sign is that TRON Legacy is doing BETTER for the last four weekdays, average, than it did the prior week. Ergo, revenue has gone **UP** this work week, compared to last. That only happens if the word of mouth is very positive and you also have a lot of repeat viewings. WOO!

Sequels help boost foreign box office
by Andrew Stewart
While Christmas box office totals weren't much to celebrate, the international market delivered a degree of cheer, led by the bow of "Little Fockers," with Paramount handling overseas distribution, and Disney's 3D holdover stocking stuffer "Tron: Legacy." Both pics fought neck-and-neck for the top spot, with "Fockers" gaining a slight edge. Par estimated $27 million for "Fockers" over the holiday sesh, while "Tron" tallied $26.6 million at 5,475 locations in 34 territories -- or 65% of the international market. By comparison, "Fockers" debuted in 37 markets, playing at 3,933 locations.
Things might have been even rosier if most of Europe, like portions of the U.S., hadn't been blanketed in blizzard conditions, causing some plexes to close early. Still, top markets like the U.K. and France contributed hearty figures for "Fockers," while "Tron" earned slightly more than half its weekend take from Russia and outside Europe -- in Mexico and Japan.
In Blighty, "Fockers" beat the series' first pic, "Meet the Parents," by 96%, grossing a chart-topping $7.3 million at 487 locations, while in Gaul, the third franchise installment tallied $3 million, 20% better than the original. "Fockers," which reunites Ben Stiller and Robert De Niro as son and father-in-law, scored mixed reviews in France, with one critic from Le Figaroscope describing the pic as having "subpar jokes, but a VIP table of actors."
Gaul's holiday B.O. was decidedly American, while Italian auds supported the usual crop of local laffers over the Christmas sesh, including "Christmas in South Africa," which topped the Italo B.O. with $8 million in its soph sesh.

"Fockers" debuted strongly in Australia, grossing $2 million on Boxing Day (Dec. 26) -- a widely celebrated holiday in Oz.

Top territory for "Tron" was Russia, contributing $7.8 million at 682 locations and dominating the local market with a roughly 50% lead over its closet competitor, "Fockers." "Tron" scored big in 3D in Russia, earning more than 80% of its revenue from the format there, including Imax locations. Russia has been a major player in 3D grosses all year, and with national holidays starting Dec. 27 through the weekend, "Tron" should continue to hold strong in holdover frames.

"Tron's" other notable territories were Mexico and Japan, which added $3.3 million and $2.7 million, respectively, to the pic's weekend take. In Mexico, "Tron" bowed on Christmas Day as the market's No. 1 title, while in Japan, where the pic is in its second sesh, the lucrative Japanese holiday season of Shogatsu should almost double "Tron's" current $11 million cume, according to Disney.
A list of 3D family-friendly titles, such as Twentieth Century Fox's "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader" and Disney's "Tangled," made the most of the holiday sesh. "Dawn Treader" tallied an additional $23.2 million in its third week of release, boosting its international cume to a terrific $166 million so far, while "Tangled" has grossed $118 million, with Christmas biz (the film's fifth frame) adding $9.5 million. "Tangled" is screening in just 18 overseas markets (45% of the marketplace); "Narnia" has bowed in 66 to date.
Both films should see considerable holds going into the New Year's frame, with tykes and parents on vacation. Disney will continue to expand "Tangled's" run throughout January, while "Narnia" goes out this weekend in mostly smaller markets.
Meanwhile, Warner Bros. is starting small with its 3D family pic "Yogi Bear," having released the film in only five territories, including Germany where the pic's opening take -- just $282,000 on 529 screens -- was severely impacted by frosty weather; overall the German B.O. was down 50% from the previous week.
Warners expands "Yogi" to Russia on Dec. 30, followed by Australia and Italy the weekend of Jan. 14-16.
Emilio Mayorga in Barcelona, Mark Schilling in Tokyo, Clifford Coonan in Beijing, Andrew Horn in Berlin, David Hayhurst in Paris and Nick Vivarelli in Rome contributed to this report.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion
