TRON FOREVER!

Have a look at Lemony Snicket's second week in release and you'll see the same thing. Maybe it's good word of mouth or maybe it's that people are less busy this week than last.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Given the fact that Snickets opened at roughly 50% of TRON's opening take, did not get nearly as good audience approval, and had not nearly as much crossover appeal -- from children to adults -- I am not sure that's a good comparison?

Yes, Snickets had a better second week than its first week, but then it positively tanked in week 3.

We'll know if the comparison is apt by this time next week I guess -- I think TRON Legacy will have far stronger legs.

It could also be the fact that schools in the country had this week off.

They had last week off too.

It MIGHT have been the awful weather. In any case, it shows there were more people who wanted to see Tron so that's a good thing.

Maybe. I do hope it keeps going, this weekend will be the litmus test. The weather in the Northeast is supposed to be abnormally warm, so hopefully the numbers will flatten out instead of drop.

Friday estimates:

1. True Grit (2010) $8,186,000
2. Little Fockers $7,765,000
3. Tron Legacy $5,025,000

Tron's still holing up well considering it's in it's 3rd week versus the other movies, but with how well it was doing over the week I actually expected it to stay around 6m. Maybe it'll get a significant bump on Saturday. We'll see. In any case, worldwide BO is now at: $183,073,000.

New Year's Eve acts like Christmas Eve at the box office. There'll be a bump today.

5. Tangled 3.8m
6. Narnia 3.5
7. Gulliver's Travels 3m
8. Black Swan 2.7m
9. Fighter 2.6m
10. The Tourist 1.8m

Man, what is with people that they'll go see trash like "Little Fockers"? I'm not too worried about Tron being at #3, but Fockers being #1 for multiple days just makes me sad for America :/

What's worse is that I know of people taking their kids (10 and under) to go see that instead of TRON...

Now that's REALLY sad...

I'm feeling pretty confident that Legacy will make $300 million at this rate. And there are still foriegn markets the film hasn't even opened in yet. order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Once the last seven days of foreign revenue have been tallied, TRON Legacy should be well over $200,000,000 dollars US. I am very curious to see how well TL does in January. Unless attendance completely tanks, I think $300,000,000 world-wide is not out of the question by February 1, 2011.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

The only thing coming out in the near future that I can even see competing is the Green Hornet, and even that is iffy. http://boxofficemojo.com/schedule/

IMO Green Hornet, Green Lantern and Thor all look horrible. I could never get into superhero movies. Do kids even read those types of comic books anymore?

Tron is a superhero, ones and zeroes above his competition on the grid.

The problem with both Hornet and Lantern is that neither project seems to have been taken seriously. They're aiming for slap-stick and goofball humor when both franchises should be, in my opinion, handled with much more gravity. Now, sometimes it can work. Not saying it's impossible. I just don't see that either of these demanded a live-action movie at this time, and certainly not the sort of live-action films being delivered, with cut-up jokes and other debris strewn in place of plotting or drama.

I'm worried about Green Hornet but Michel Gondry is directing so that could be interesting. Green Lantern I'm really worried about. The only DC hero I'm really into, but something about the movie looked a little cheap and the female lead seems very wooden. We'll see. I think they are going for an Iron Man vibe except it wasn't funny. I think Thor could go either way. It looks visually impressive, at least.

Back to the Box Office a bit, Tron has now made $110m overseas. That brings the total worldwide box office to around 241m.

It has yet to open in these territories:

Slovakia 6 January 2011
China 11 January
Portugal 13 January 2011
Belgium 26 January 2011
Netherlands 26 January 2011
Germany 27 January 2011
Turkey 28 January 2011
France 9 February 2011
