390 Million, or 290 Million? I've seen 290 on that site...

There is asboslutely no way Disney spent $220M dollars US on marketing. No way. That's preposterous. The marketing costing more than the movie itself? No way.

Even a quote of $100M dollars US is questionable.

Sorry about that folks. That was a 100.000.000 boo boo on my part. It should be 170,000,000 for the production budget and 120.000,000 for marketing of the film. 290,000,000. I read the figures on nikki finke site, perhaps they are suspect I don't know. I REALLY want to see a continuation of the franchise.where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill onlineabortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

Post-holiday ticket sales have been rather low -- but not just for TRON, it seems.

I am curious to see how things rebound this weekend.

Numbers through the holiday week are higher because people have time off. Starting this week people start going back to work and the numbers will drop and level off. Tron did have the biggest dip percentage-wise, but it's also been out longer than the other films in the top 3. Also, movies that are attracting more family audiences (versus adult audiences) always drop more on non-holiday weekdays because less families go to the movies then. You can see this in the extreme drop of Yogi and Narnia versus more adult movies like True Grit or Black Swan.

1. True Grit $2,165,547 -17.4%
2. Fockers $2,008,010 -17.5%
3. Tron Legacy $1,755,989 -25%

Total cume after 19 days: $135,400,864
Legacy is currently #13 in the all-time biggest money-makers in December list.where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

I've been lurking for a while and felt it was time to contribute. LOL. I must say that being a Tron fan has felt like being on an emotional roller coaster. I've heard everything from more Tron is on its way to Disney has pulled the plug to the film is an embarrassment to the studio to its been a moderate success. I've been watching box office returns like a hawk and actually stressing about them, which is something I never do. Has this become an obsession for others here?

There will either be another movie or there won't be. Watching the info won't change anything. And if it's stressing you out, isn't a good idea. Remember, there's alot more to a sequel getting greenlit than just box office returns. Revenue will come from multiple sources, and unless you are a professional with enormous experience dealing with these figures, the money that you can see coming in means absolutely nothing in terms of realistic predictions.

That makes sense and stressing about it is a silly thing to do. I would have to think that part of Disney's investment in all this is to build a brand which would pay off for them in multiple ways. This probably isn't the best example but I remember The Clone Wars theatrical film got abysmal reviews much worse than Tron did and very poor box office returns, but the TV series is probably the highest rated show on Cartoon Network, it probably has two more seasons. the merchandising on that show probably rakes in many times more cash than the theatrical release did. I can't imagine the execs imagined they'd see $300 million in domestic ticket returns. I'd have to think there was a longer game plan considered for building up the name after being dormant for all these years.

I don't stress about it, but I have been checking the daily box office in the same way I check the daily box scores for the National Basketball Association. TRON Legacy is my "team" and I want to see how much TL "scored" the previous evening, so to speak. So it's not a big deal, and yet, I do find myself cheering for TL and hoping very much for a long, fruitful run.

Not just every dollar, but we just were given the news that TRON Legacy has kept its postion as a finalist nominee for best visual effects. So this little bit of credit by the Academy gives the film a little cache as a film that is a slight cut above others.

Wednesday 1/5/11:

True Grit: 1,940,218
Fockers: 1,634,840
Tron:1,383,504

Still very nice, hold-wise. It's keeping it's relative position with the other releases out there. There was some danger with Green Hornet possibly taking IMAX screens soon but from what I've heard it seems like a lot of IMAX will still be playing Legacy even after Green Hornet is out.

What I'm liking is the fact that it's very close to Fockers despite being a week older. And given that Legacy is such a visual stunner, it's got the kind of repeat viewing value that a comedy like Fockers does not. If it outlasts Fockers and moves ahead, that will get some notice. I know I plan to see it again.on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

I think back to all the movies that opened during the Christmas season and did poorly and I get all happy that TRON is doing so well. Today one of those movies had the nerve to show up on HBO.....That movie was TOYS. That is right Barry Levinson's Toys. I remember when Robin Williams promoted his butt off for that film, going on talk shows, wearing the silly costumes and the noise making outfit. A pipe dream, that ultimately fell apart on the silver screen. Well, I just thank God that something I have waited so long for didn't collapse on me.

I'll be curious to see if the entry of SEASON OF THE WITCH has any impact on TRON's numbers. I honestly am not sure the one will take anything away from the other? Unless Cage can pack the crowds -- he hasn't done that much lately -- I am betting the impact is minimal at worst.

To me, "Season of the Witch" is Nick Cage's "Van Helsing" and I predict it will fizzle and die...

Fockers is in the lead, but the reviews are terrible...like ratings barely in the double digits. TL at least got mixed reviews, almost half and half. I suspect Fockers will decline very soon once the initial curiosity wears off.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion
