And I guarantee someone submitted it to IMDB because they saw the screwed-up non-Flash version of the Tron Legacy web site, not because they have authoritative information.
IMDB also lists THE NEVERHOOD as being released next year, which is total horse-dook. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1058777/
You can't trust IMDB for anything related to upcoming movies.

IMDb is known for being very unreliable. Also, that credit on the Tron website is either two things:
1) A typo mistake (the website is buggy, i.e. I can't save my program profile)
2) The real credit or SPOILER... Mouse Over To Read:something to try to throw us off and to make us speculate that Rinzler is not Tron
DaveTRON is friends with Dan, so I can contact him to make sure. Besides, I think Dan is working in theater in New York or something.
If he is in Tron Legacy it still would be awesome though, as Ram was like one of my favorite characters.

Kosinski & Lisberger have both stated that the film was made to stand on its own, that people who had not seen the original film would be able to understand what is going on. The fact of the matter is RAM was an ancilliary character who really served little purpose to the plot other than providing exposition, a little comic relief, and a dramatic death scene. No one who hasn't seen the original film would understand who he is. And if they didn't even bother putting Cindy Morgan in the movie, whose role was significantly more substantial, why Dan Shor?

Yeah, but one can hope. We'll see when it comes out.
While the movie might stand on it's own, it doesn't mean that they won't throw us a bone. And when they say that it will stand by itself, I think they mean that the movie will fill the audience in on what happened in the first Tron. We'll be seeing everything through Sam's eyes. Flynn never told Sam about what happened in the first Tron. He stopped just short of it the night he disappeared.
I could see Clue rerezzing Ram and convincing him that the Users are just...well... using them. And his ability to bring back a derezzed program would woo a lot of programs to his side. But I seriously doubt that's the case.
The story is the most exciting aspect of the movie. There are so many ways they can go with it, do to it being neglected for so long.

The problem, Darth, is that iff they introduce RAM, then they have to explain to the audience WHO RAM IS. If they don't, anyone who did not see the original movie will have no idea who it is.
