I have pretty strong opinions about clu's face. Lest we forget that the original Clu wasn't very human-like himself. This Clu is likely no different in that respect, though maybe upgraded over the years, if it's even the same Clu, which I think it could be.

This movie is perfectly timed for its audience, much unlike TRON which was too far ahead of its time.

Probably worth noting, the wooden smile from CGI isn't really there in the 'real world' shot at the very beginning of the trailer although in the tron world it is. Gotta disagree with you there... it was definately there when you see young flynn in the real world. And why include an effect in a big budget movie that looks very much like a bad cg effect?

You need to check out the COMPLETELY UNOFFICIAL TRON TIMELINE!
Meanwhile in the real world... the controller feeds the shift clock to the VRAM's video port. Each shift clock pulse causes the VRAM to deliver the next datum, in strict address order, from the shift-register to the video port... Next frame-buffer data: Who created users?

Clu's lips twich a little after the end of "...but I'm very happy to see you", but not to the point where it's artificial or unnatural. Works fine.
Overall, VERY excited.

Wasn`t the original derezzed into the MCP when he was caught in the original film with the recognizer and brought to the MCP for the query with him. This one might be an updated version from the same source code and compiled. I think for this effect here they might have did that intensional as well. They may have overlaped Jeff face to look a lot younger than he is today via sgi animation.
