BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The TRON universe is coming to additional platforms than previous transmissions revealed. Disney Interactive Studios today announced the development of TRON video games for Wii™, Nintendo DS™ and PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system. These games complete the TRON video game portfolio this year from Disney Interactive Studios, joining the previously announced TRON: Evolution for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Windows PC. The TRON: Evolution games will be released in Holiday 2010 before the “TRON: Legacy” film hits U.S. theaters on December 17 in Disney Digital 3D™ and IMAX® 3D.
TRON Evolution – Battle Grids (Wii), TRON: Evolution (DS) and TRON: Evolution PSP are action packed games set within the combat arenas and mysterious cities of the TRON world. All game versions give fans a unique way to battle and explore the TRON universe alone or with friends and family.
“These games offer unique experiences within the TRON universe that are ideal for their individual platforms,” said Craig Relyea, senior vice president of global marketing, Disney Interactive Studios. “TRON is an exciting, dynamic property that appeals to interactive entertainment fans of all ages.”
TRON: Evolution, for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 system and Windows PC was announced in December 2009. Set during the era between the two TRON films, TRON: Evolution conveys a story of significant events within the TRON mythology. The game features an epic adventure across the massive digital TRON world filled with high-mobility disc-based combat and light cycle action.
The TRON games for Nintendo platforms (TRON: Evolution – Battle Grids for Wii and TRON: Evolution for DS), include games and art styles appropriate for a wide audience, including families and kids.
TRON: Evolution - Battle Grids (Wii)
Developed by n-Space Inc. partnering with Propaganda Games for the unique features of Wii™ and targeting both families and a younger audience, TRON: Evolution - Battle Grids is an action game set in the combat arenas and streets of the TRON Universe. The game features a championship mode where friends can compete against each other or play together in fully customizable tournaments. Story mode allows players to evolve their created character in the quest to become the Game Grids Champion. In addition, the game features more than 15 game grid challenges with iconic TRON weapons and vehicles such as battle and survival mode in light cycles and battle and grid capture mode in light discs. In grid challenges players can compete with family and friends in local games for one to four players.
TRON: Evolution (Nintendo DS)
TRON: Evolution for DS casts the player in the story as an up-and-coming TRON entity. TRON: Evolution for DS features an adventure mode where players battle in arenas while uncovering a conspiracy to rig the Grid Games. In addition, the game features a Grid Games Championship where players compete in arena matches or in races. Grid games feature local multiplayer with iconic TRON vehicles, such as light cycles and light tanks in competitive and cooperative modes, including capture the flag and last man standing.
TRON: Evolution PSP (PSP system)
A familiar face from the outside world has organized the first Grid Games Tournament of Champions in TRON: Evolution PSP. Players advance and customize their character as they compete in an extensive series of action-packed game grid challenges, ranging from intense light cycle racing, to light disc combat. Players can battle and compete with up to four friends in multiple head-to-head matches and play modes. Players can also unlock exciting bonus content that is sure hit home with TRON fans. I wish the Tron:Evo DS was coming out before July 22nd, so I could play it while waiting in line for the Tron Legacy panel at SDCC...
Guess I'll get DragonQuest 9 instead.
Definately getting the DS and PC version... *maybe* the Wii one eventually....

I highly recommend Metriod Prime Trilogy, if you don't get that many games, you must at least get that one.
I'm most likely going to get Tron Evolution for PC (hopefully my PC can run the game...) and most likekly the DS version so I another friend of mine can battle each other... I may get the Wii version later on...

I happened to have found a Video on Youtube about the tron Wii game, with practicly all gameplay photage. It talks about the Light Cycle's and the new Light Runner's.
And sorry if someone else may have posted it, but I haven't seen it on here yet, and the Vid is barely a week or so old.

In my opinon... I need a Wii to play this Unique one. But the overall gameplay layout kinda Reminds me of the Jak X: Battle Racers game, take out the apponent by all means nessecary, accept for the Light Cycle arena battles. That one is more Tron original.

That was a feature I was honestly not expecting to make it, awesome.  Nice to see the Wii version running at what seems to be a smooth 60FPS. Looks pretty cool. I like that a player can custom create their own character and have some choice in how they look.
So if one doesn't like that one particular, cartoony "blah" face, you can select another.
Apparently this takes place **before** the period of time in which the Abraxas Virus appears and things "turned dark"...
I *pray* they include a Disc Battle game in this.... if they do, it will go from my "to rent" list, and go on my to "buy when I find on Half.com for lower price" list.

I wonder if anyone was expecting that, but seems that after a certain angle between the light trail and Light Cycle, you crash. Also, if you heard what the speaker says, the 90 Degree turns are still apart of the Light Cycles game, so that's a plus!

Yeah, I'm glad that you can customize your caracter as well. i'm not too fond of the "cartoon" style as well.
And that would make sense, since that game seems to be more of a competition game, but maybe it leads into the Abraxas Virus. Who knows?
Never thought about the disk games... Would be cool to see it on there. Questions are though, how would that one be played with the Wii remote, and if it is on the Wii, how would it be different from the PS3, PC, ect. versions of the Tron game?

But it's Tron, man! Don't be so demanding. Don't complain if Disc Battles isn't in it... accept the fact that it's TRON!! Be happy they're even making it. I think you should buy it at full price no matter what's in (or not in) the final product.

Should I call you nitpicky or a complainer who should get over if Disc Battles isn't in the game? No. Just as you shouldn't get on my case for my simple observations of, "I wish T:L or T:E had _this_ instead of _that_ ... or I think they could've done _this_ better".
Luckily for you, Alan1 says MP disk battles are a go, so it looks like the game will live up to the overly high expectations you require for purchasing the game. (yes, I'm kidding.)
