OMG... This is a long time coming...

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I HATE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

... but I guess we just have to deal with it. SyFy (ShyFry) wanted to patent a name that was more distinguish... I think... or they think they are being hip or something.

I still love the station, but you know when the retard-ness is spreading beyond politics when you have to replace Sci with Sy.....

I'm not crazy about the name change either, but as long as they keep making cool shows like Eureka and Warehouse 13, two shows which my wife enjoys watching with me, then they're all right.

I agree on Eureka and Warehouse 13. Both are enjoyable if not 'must watch' shows for me.

My problem with SyFy is that they really don't show enough classic SciFi. Instead they poollute the airwaves with their shitty movies that suck major balls in my POV.

Lou Diamond Phillips must love the career extension, but really, lots more shit that hits.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Sometimes, I watch SyFy channel original movies. I've always assumed they're there for pure comedic impact, right?order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

It's a terrible name choice. But it's not so much so they can diversify in content, but instead because they cannot legally own the name "SciFi". order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

Truth be told, I don't think I've enjoyed a single original SciFi Channel movie, and also wish they'd show much more classic Sci-Fi than they do.

LOL!!! So true. I don't think he'd work if there were no SciFi Channel.

Don't like the name change either.

Remember the classic days...

I loved the animated bumpers they made.

I don't particularly care for the name change. But it's not that big of a deal to me. I'm with Dave, the original movies they put out are laughable they're so bad. I cringe at how bad the acting and special effects are sometimes, that is, if I can stand to watch one for that long of a time. I do wish they would play more classic sci-fi programming.

Hey, have yall ever seen "The Last Starfighter" played on the Sci-Fi Channel? I've never seen it aired, but I've had several people say, "oh yeah, they play it all the time." I'd love to catch it one day. I haven't seen that movie in ages! Ah..the good ole days...

Man, this thread got me thinking about how awesome both Sci-Fi and Cartoon Network were, and just how very much they suck now. Those two channels were the main reasons I got cable TV! What a shame.

MutoidMan: Whatever good was made from Cartoon Network can still be found on Boomerang, Cartoon Network's extension "vintage" cartoon channel. It has all the older cartoons along with those not so old, dating maybe 5-10 years back.

AHHHHHHHHH!

I was back home this weekend and caught a glimpse of SyFy Channel... I knew it got bad... but damn damn damn DAMN DAAAAAAAAAAAAAYMN!! I didn't know it had let itself go this badly!

How many films have they made at this point?! Where does the money come from to makes these craptastical feats of film? I caught it during some disaster marathon... thingy.

The main one I caught sight of was a "disaster film" (boy is that a LOADED pun if ever!) "NYC: Twister Terror!" When did the flying monkeys from Wizard of OZ get into script writing and cgi FX? I wanted to see all the main characters die as quickly and horribly possible as the film could afford. Sad to say even that was too expensive for this film to deliver. The plot, in my humble view, should be taken down a dark Brooklyn alley and quietly killed. There wouldn't even be a police report. Nope. Nada.

I didn't think a movie could get so bad, and it just kept getting worse. There was floating cotton candy electricity orbs of electro-static death terrorizing Empire State Building. I'm not making this up!

The most comical line of the film deserves it's own ringtone:

"We can't go down the stairs sir... It's full of electricity."

Note the lack of exclamation mark. That's important.

Has anyone else seen this movie????
Please tell me it was a bad daymare!

*Pops in "The Poseidon Adventure" dvd*

Oh great Master of Disaster Irwin Allen, please wash away the sins of that SyFy movie from my mind and skin! I beg thee oh great one!!!

For me, there are two shows on SyFy that I currently like. 'Sanctuary' and 'Warehouse 13'.

I've watched 'SGU' (which I am a SG1 fan), but I don't know what to think about the new show yet. It's sort of dragging and doesn't have the same comical personality like SG1 did.

As for Cartoon Network, I liked it better when they use to show Loony Toons.... I'm not paying extra for Boomerang.
