I accidentally bought Fallout 3. What I mean is, I saw its previews, etc. and realized it wasn't a game I wanted. The environment was too desolate (i.e., boring everywhere), and the AI and NCP interactions didn't look any better/funner than Morrowind, Oblivion, etc. Then months later, I was at a store and thought I remembered it getting good reviews, but had a feeling deep down that I wasn't going to buy it for some reason. I threw the latter feelings aside hoping I was wrong, and bought it anyways.

I'm 'somewhat' enjoying Fallout 3, but finding it incredibly annoying that the AI in it is the same as Morrowind (which came out in like 2002), which is the same as Oblivion (which came out in like 2006). Poor Bethesda needs a new AI programmer. It seems as though they've been using the same guy for like 10 years.

It doesn't take long to figure it out, but here's how complex the AI is:
1) Enemy unit(s) patrol area for no reason and waits for player to arrive
2) Player arrives somewhere within a 50 meter radius
3) Enemy unit(s)'s state is immediately raised to alert and immediately knows where player is
4) Enemy unit(s) begins shooting right away or rushes the player in a bee-line path, with awful character animations.

Since Bethesda's AI can't be improved in at least 7 years time, I feel sorry for them. Fallout 3's gameplay and AI are simply a regurgitation of Oblivion and Morrowind, only set in a wasteland this time. Fortunately, they did figure out how to not make every friendly NCP say stupid greetings every time you get near them... it happens only most of the time. I think the only Bethesda game I've ever enjoyed is Wayne Gretzky hockey for the Amiga 500. Everything else is just a large, boring map with uninspired characters, tedious dialogue, poor animations and repetitive and frustrating gameplay. Oblivion kinda looked pretty in parts, but didn't escape the boring gameplay and same annoying issues I've come to love with Bethesda games.

Those who like Fallout 3 and all the other Bethesda games are truly patient individuals. I don't know how you do it...

I bought the Collector's Edition last year, shortly after the game came out. And I STILL haven't played it!

I just haven't had much time. And maybe it's for the best, because Bethesda has just released another patch recently. The sad fact is that, these days, games are seldom finished when they're released. It takes months before the game is finally patched up and working the way it should. (And this isn't just on the PC, it happens on consoles too now.)

I do intend to get around to playing it in the near future. By that time, maybe Bethesda will have collected all the DLC expansions into one package. There's no way I'm going to download each individual mission and pay for each one, when not long afterward they'll be in one package at a lower price.

I also prefer having my games on disc, rather than downloading them to the hard drive. The only Steam games I own are Valve's own titles, and the odd game I picked up when it was on sale at a huge discount. So that it was cheaper to buy on Steam than in the store.

I got the Survival Edition from Amazon, it's pretty sweet. The clock looks really cool, and the bobblehead and artbook are sweet as hell.

I gotta wait till next week to play it tho, since some of my memory decided to die so I had to order some more *ugh*

I bought it recently for my PS3 - and am ADDICTED to it. I LOVE it! Interesting thing that happened: I got to the Ghoul's hidden city and went on that one mission, "Just Shoot 'Em In the Head" and I actually killed Alistair Tenpenny, Dave (Republic of Dave), and the two other people that I was told to kill. Later on, I'm going through the wasteland, and I see this shack on top of a hill - I go inside the shack, and then try to take a nap and see a message, "You can not sleep when enemies are nearby". I decide to go outside and see the Regulators and a fierce firefight ensues. I pulled out my lasergun and just popped 'em all quickly one after the other. . . .then later on, I got to one of those forts and ran into them again. I may start over from the beginning so I can get good karma. abortion pills online abortion questions cytotec abortion
