Technically, it wouldn't be political correctness as it is greedy-people-who-have-really-good-lawyers-ness. You see, some mother decided that she wanted some money. So, she hires a good lawyer and watches Sesame Street really close. She then realizes that (OMG YOU WOULD NEVER GUESS THIS) the cookie monster eats, wait for it, COOKIES! WHAT A CRIME. So, she tells the court that her children (who obviously do not have ANY parental guidance whatsoever) are being influenced to eat way too many cookies. She wins. Cookie Monster goes on a diet. Protests start and eventually die outside of the Sesame Workshop headquarters.

I vaguely remember Great Space Coaster. It wasn't on TV for very long. At least, where I live. I remember the gorilla character puppeteered by Kevin Clash, before he went on to Sesame Street to become (shudder) Elmo.
I also remember Gary Gnu . . . that was the best bit.

i was hoping to find this picture and post it but i havent had luck.
my mother had a photo of me and my sister with goriddle gorilla on the set of the great space coaster - my dad was the director/producer for 1 or 2 seasons - anyhow in the picture in my hands is the TRON Movie Guidebook i had gotten because my mother took us to see it that day
im gonna look for it again this weekend. must find

Gotta award some build points for that:
He got the traaaaa-aay-aay-aain throoooough!
I haven't seen that one since I saw it on TV in the 70's as a kid! It's been about THREE decades! Whoa - very cool to see again. Damn YouTube's crappy video/audio sync spoiled it a little, but it was still fun to watch again. I remembered so much while watching it. It's funny to look at what I mixed up over the years though. For instance, I thought it was Casey Jones instead of Casey McPhee. Uh... Casey Jones was "drivin' a train, high on cocaine", NOT Cookie Monster. And I thought it was a blizzard, but it was the avalanche. Not bad recall for 30 years ago though still, huh?  Watching the video, I remembered almost every detail. The smoke blowing during Cookie's close-up driving the train, the toy train shots, the song (the refrain, anyway), Cookie eating the snow - pretty much everything. Memory floods during that clip. I can't believe I never thought to look it up myself. Awesome.
Haaaaaaa! Another awesome classic. This one I think I've seen more recent than 30 years ago, but it was still megga awesome watching it again. I'd say it's been at least 15 to 20 years for this gem (since last viewing). This is one of those iconic numbers that almost everyone remembers (our age) and identifies with children's TV and Sesame Street. As a kid, I used to love taking a bug bite out of cookies that I ate JUST to make it look like the letter C because of this song. I did that for YEARS! Totally forgot until watching this again. I must have done it with a doughnut or too as well, but don't remember for certain.
