SuperScooby, seriously . . . knock it off. Stop trying to draw lurkinghorror into arguments with inflammatory comments. One more snide reply in this topic and not only will this thread be locked, that's also your first warning.

I would not be surprised if they hold off on Tron until next year now. As long as they master it right and add a bunch of cool extras then I can live with my 20th anniversary edition for now. By then I should have a BR player at least.

Yeah, I hope they take the proper amount of time needed for this release. I know on the 20th they seemed to have gotten quite a few colors off on things like the recognizers having green tint in areas, etc. I hope they can clean some of that up in the bluray release.

I'm not sure how those lurkinghorror comments got in there. That is just plain odd... I'm sure it won't happen again however. It's just a strange occurrence like that. I'm checking with my typist on it.

Speaking of special features, has anyone heard anything about what the bluray will or will not contain for special features? I haven't been able to dig anything up on it yet, just the bluray placeholder at Amazon. where to buy abortion pill abortion types buy abortion pill online

I'm fairly certain that's not a "color off thing". Due to the fact that all of the bad guy recos are consistently green in the movie, I truly think MAGI modeled the recognizers with that green color in mind. They probably chose it because it would good with the red lines (red and green are complementary colors).on line abortion pill misoprostol dose abortion medical abortion pill online

From my experience, I've lined up clips on video that were from the same reel from the directors cut, painted by different people, and added in different parts of the movie. The result was I had to re-align the colors. I can give examples. First - Sarks carrier. same sequence when added togeter, just edited to play in the movie - grey, then bluegreen. tank scenes. there's a yellow/red interior, then a brighter interior then I think white and green, same reel, different paint. The recognizers are usually black and red, or near black. Then there's green ones, then black again. almost like they colored them match the background/foreground in the game sea.

That's just what happens. It would take a day to fix them, my POV is that each scene is a work of art, so I don't think it will change.. They look good unless they're played side by side, and nobody would say the color is off..

I just wish they had alot more unused footage to look at from the past. man that would be cool.

I like that Tron may not perfect. I love it just the way it is It adds character. I hardly ever pay attention to the glitches (non-illuminated circuitry; different colors; some grainyness; etc.), but when I do notice, I like it.

The shifting brightness and color variations are due to the irregular flow of energy, as the MCP is using the majority of the domains resources for himself. That's why the 3 heroes are so enamored with the pure energy they find after their escape and why the domain becomes so lush after the MCP's defeat.

Or it's the fact that the technology was untried and (as Jademz points out) many different hands worked on the film. But I like my version better.

As long as they don't use a lot of DNE (which they tend to use on older movies) then I bet it will look fine, even with some of the strange colors. I would actually prefer the colors to stay but if they did fix that up I wouldn't care.

So is this finally going to be released at D23, or is that screening unrelated or just a preview of what the Bluray disc will look like?

It only makes sense that they'd already have worked on remastering TRON now, so it will be ready well in advance of its release on Blu-Ray.

But its release window still hasn't changed. It will be released on Blu-ray up to a few months prior to the time the sequel appears in theaters. It's not coming out in 2009.

Well, perhaps it could still make a 2009 cutoff. If the sequel is released in March\April of 2010, a few months before that date would be December 2009. Or do we know for certain the sequel will be summer of 2010 or could it maybe be early spring?

I don't remember if a release time period was announced for the sequel yet.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

The sequel is coming out Christmas 2010. This has been confirmed by multiple sources, including Olivia Wilde and Bruce Boxleitner.

No 2009 Blu-ray release.

What is DNE?

DNE stands for Digital Noise Erasing. It's an automated process that removes dust, dirt, scratches, and so on from films to make the picture cleaner.

The problem is, it can sometimes actually make a film look worse instead of better. It tends to soften or blur the image too much. It has to be used carefully.

Thanks. I was hoping for a summer release of the sequel. Oh well, it's worth the wait either way. Good to know that a solid release date is set for the sequel.

Has there been any confirmation on a solid release date for the bluray release yet? Or is it all speculation at this point in time? I'm hoping it will be sooner than 3 months before sequel release and was wondering who may have the bluray release date schedule.

Yeah, I heard they did that with the early Looney Toons DVD sets. The fans hated how it looked so WB has been quietly reissuing some of the DVDs in the set without the noise reduction.

I know this is explained on the 20th DVD someplace, but the basic reason for those variations is that film stock they were using during the production of those sequences got out of sequence.

Check out the DVD for the correct technical explanation, but it's been explained.

I wonder if this bluray release of Tron will get moved up because of unforseen reasons?

Hey guys, I was searching for a release date for Tron BD and came across this forum so this is my first post here. But I used to work in the movie industry and felt like I shold let you know that what TronFAQ said is 99% correct. When a studio does a remake or sequel to a movie of the past then they release special/extended editions of the original to promote product awareness. With all the hype surrounding this movie(i.e. the A.P.'s flash drives, flynn's coins, comicon, etc.) I expect to see the bluray copies hit the stores either somewhere around 3-4 months or around 2 weeks before tron legacy comes out. Depending on what style of promotion campaign they choose they usually release around stated times.

Also, for anyone who didn't read or find this:
