TRON Comic

on Thursday, July, 24, 2008 11:32 PM
I was given a special honor once by Landry Walker who is part of the TRON Comic team.

Being a complete idiot, I forgot about it, but I jest rediscovered it in my archives.

What is it?

The psychiatrist in Issue 1 is named Dr. David Arnspinger.

Or at least he is in the script I was given. They don't mention it in the book, but in my copy of the script it says, as follows:

PANEL 1:

We’re now in the office of the psychiatrist that Alan recommended to Jet. The furnishings
are tasteful, but not overly-expensive looking. Jet sits in a comfortable-looking leather
chair, but Jet himself looks decidedly uncomfortable. He’s holding a cup of coffee. The
psychiatrist, Dr. David Arnspinger, sits nearby in an armchair.

I know I sent a note thanking Landry back then, but I just wanted to say once again how cool this was, and thank you for the honor of being in the TRON comic.

How could I forget something that damn cool?!?!?!

That, and a link to the Vista compatible version of Recognizer!

Woah, I wonder how many people noticed that little reference to you, DaveTRON! Kinda like in the Xbox Killer App game, where there was a cyclist named jmaynard.exe.

Wow that's cool! Unfortuantely, like you said, the name David Arnspiger is never mentioned in the comic. Oh well, it's still cool!

@Dave

I remember that!

I wanted it to show up in the background on a nameplate or something. I should have been more specific in the script.

Maybe I could get that worked into the trade paperback.order abortion pill morning after pill price where to buy abortion pill

That'd be cool, but I always have my script to remember it by. I can't believe I forgot. I am sorry for that.

Pssst. It's Arnspiger by the way unless you added the extra N to protect the innocent!

The character looks just like Dave if Dave looked exactly like someone else.

I'm crazy for my extra "n's". I try to put them in all the time. I'll make sure to fix it if we get to put the name into the book proper.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Man! 'Damn cool' is an understatement! "Virtually" (no pun intended) becoming part of the TRON Universe... You're kiddin'me. I haven't read a copy of Tron:GITM yet but I think I might wait 'till that trade paperback is out... I wanna be like you when I grow up! Without the 'alzheimer', of course...

Mr. Walker,
Do you think there's room for a "VRAM" in your next Tron-related story? I promise that'd be something I'll never forget...

By the way, Is there another Tron miniseries coming soon?

You need to check out the COMPLETELY UNOFFICIAL TRON TIMELINE!

As it stands right now, the series is almost over and SLG isn't picking up the license. I actually wanted to fit alot more names from the Sector into the comic, but failed. I had very limited room for a non-Tron sounding name. Dave is, in my eyes, the guy you think of when you think of Tron fandom. He's put alot out there for the community and subsequently deserves mention where possible. Well, at least his alter ego with the extra letter "N" is worth mentioning in script form.

A self contained stand alone issue was written that will not be drawn. If a new film is coming out, chances are I won't be given the opportunity to work on any comic material by whoever next picks up the license. However, if something ever happens with the license internally, than I may yet produce more Tron and that script may see print.

If it does, I will do my best to include VRAM. No promises though.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I meant with the storyline... it makes no sense to me as of now (I've only read 1-3)
And I'm sorry I don't mean to offend, but frankly some of the artwork was a bit shoddy...

I'm not offended. I didn't draw it. But I am pretty happy with the art in the last few issues.

The story should not be clear until issue 6. We'll see if people think it's good or bad, when the ending is presented.where to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Thanks! Above all I want to thank you Mr. Walker for your contributions to this community of worldwide TRON fans... It's an honor having the opportunity to 'interact' with such fine TRON-related people as DaveTRON and yourself.

I'm sorry to hear about the small chances in writing TRON-related stories for another company but I say you should be optimistic, yours will be the first name on some editor's list of candidates and at the least, he/she'll ask for a story proposal...

I'm currently writing a new Supergirl series called "Supergirl: Cosmic Adventures in the 8th grade" and my own ongoing creation of "The Super Scary Monster Show". Additionally, I've been working on the development of one of my creator owned projects for television. That's the gist of what I can speak of publicly. there are always have a dozen "maybe" projects out there.

VRAM Wrote:I'd really appreciate your advice on something like "novice writers wanting to break into the comic biz through SLG's or Dark Horse's submissions department and ready to submit script for the first eight pages of the first issue."

That's a difficult question to answer. Well, in all honesty I have never worked for Dark Horse. So it would be a bit wrong for me to give advice on how to work with them. As for SLG, the first thing to do is go to their website and read everything and anything they list on submitting. The second part is produce the work. The truth is, it is very difficult to break into the comic industry as a writer. Which is why I work with an artist to bring my ideas, as fully formed as possible, to a publishers desk. Many publishers won't look at a writers work unless they are established. Working with an artist circumvents this to a degree.

It takes alot of time and energy. I worked a full time day job and used half of my money to support Eric (the cowriter of Tron and the artist for many of our other projects) while he spent all his time drawing. I handled all the business contacts and sacrificed like crazy. And I wrote whenever possible and I read whatever I could get my hands on.

So, it's not enough to have ideas. You have to get someone to want to listen to them. Self publishing is an excellent shortcut for this. Create your own material, pay an artist to draw it, distribute it as widely as possible. Then do it again. And again. Start putting that work into the hands of every editor you can manage. And keep doing tis. I've been working at it for 16 years. I didn't go to school for it and have zero formal training. I just refused to quit and now here I am. Half perseverance and half luck. And half the luck was bad. So that's my advice. Work work work. Nothing worth having is free anyway.

Are you working for DC comics right now??? Man! That sure is damn cool!!! and I'm already intrigued by that "scary show" of yours... I believe it has a publisher, right?

Regarding your advice, I'm speechless here... all I can say is a big THANKS. Yours has got to be the first truly relevant, honest-to-God, non-generic professional advice I've ever read... I too haven't had any formal training at writing, so it became instantaneously inspirational as you can imagine...
A couple of years ago, I thought I had understood the importance of working with an artist and considered working with two I knew but couldn't convince them to work for my project, and unfortunately, as of today, I can't find anyone interested in compromising with my work, even if I could pay them... So I concluded artists just cared for their own 'artistic' work and that surely that's one of the reasons editors got paid... Now I know I have to try and self publish my work no matter what.

Thank you again for everything Mr. Walker.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill
