I took a closer look at the book, zooming in on and rotating the picture 180 degrees. Two things struck me.

1) It looks like Jeff Bridges' picture on the back of the book. I think it's Flynn's autobiography.

2) There's a picture of what appears to be a road on the front (it might also be a building, it's hard to tell for sure). Looks like it could be an homage/parody of Bill Gates' book "The Road Ahead".

I'll see about getting the title of the TR2N News thread changed, to include a spoiler warning. I'll probably have to ask Auric to do it.

In the future, I guess we'll have to limit front page articles to "click here to read/see more" and link it to a forum post with the spoilerific details.

I agree with the sentiment. We do need to do something. But what is and is not considered a spoiler, can get very tricky. One person's spoiler is another person's no big deal.

I'm also concerned that if we create two threads, then spoilers will end up being posted in the second thread anyway and we'll end up having to delete them.


Let's take a hypothetical example:

What if we find out there are Recognizers appearing in the sequel. Would that be considered a spoiler? Most would say no. But some would say yes.

Now, what if we find out the Recognizers are going to look different. Is that a spoiler? Some would say no, most would probably say yes. That knowing the Recognizer is in is okay, but not what it looks like.

But if we already know the Recognizers are going to be in the film, you could argue: what difference does it make if we know what they look like? You've already been spoiled, anyway.

See, it gets tricky . . .


For better or worse: beyond very basic details in any future news on the front page, pretty much all of it could be considered spoilers and it should all be placed in one thread with a spoiler warning.

So, what's the solution? What do you all think is acceptable and not a spoiler, and what is a spoiler? I'd like to see how people's opinions differ. Or perhaps they won't? Let's find out.

Actually, I think the same position I suggested the individual on the cover was in (hands together at the mouth) was used by Dillinger in a few parts of the movie.
