Wendy Carlos is a bit of a musical genius, isn't she. Yes, it's sad she won't be doing it. I'm hopeful, though, that Daft Punk can do the soundtrack justice by holding true to Tron and not getting too out of line or turning it into a string of songs not tied to the scenes very well to simply be used on their next album.
I don't know their music very well, but I have a feeling they will do fine. They seem to know and love the 80s and Tron. They do some synth work, etc. Don't need any house/trip hop beat music, though. I hope they're good at doing ambient music. And yes, if they did the ambient stuff for the TR2N concept trailer, then that would be a good sign. The main Tron theme song we all know and love better not get mutilated and turned into some barely recognizable
PS: Daft Punk aside, I hope the intro scene to TR2N is pretty much the same as the intro to the old Tron movie. Lightning flashes; parts come together to form Tron; camera zooms into the word TRON. That and the sounds/music tied to it are classic; kind've like the intro to Star Wars movies with the scrolling text and outer space pan down. Can't/shouldn't mess with it. If more Tron movies get made, that intro could easily be done at the start of each one.

I doubt they did the music from the trailer (I'm still hoping the guy who did that music is still involved). Let Daft Punk take care of action scenes. I assume the real world sounds different than the virtual world as well.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pillwhere to buy abortion pill ordering abortion pills to be shipped to house buy abortion pill online

Wow, I haven't heard Daft Punk's music since...forever.:]
Well as TronFAQ has said, I'm also only familiar with a few of Daft Punk's earlier works.
I'm three years behind everyone on music. I just haven't had the chance to listen to anything.
If they are even working on Tron, I hope they aren't the only one's working on the music. Not that I mean anything by it. I'm cold and calculating. Don't press my buttons.

I doesn't have to be anything like Wendy Carlos. It just needs to set the right atmosphere. It needs to set the undertone, add to the immersion. If anything, I wouldn't want them to use 80s samples/beats from popular songs at that time, tron 2 ending up going commercial (instead of artistic). I've just seen the trailer bits from Irreversible & Enter the Void, and that sounds more like filmscore, so I give them the benefit of the doubt. Add some matrix-type music on top of it (action oriented scenes), and ambient for slow-paced scenes, creative freedom with synth sounds (and traditional strings/orchesta).

*reads about Daft Punk and TRON 2*
Heavy: OH NO!!!!
This is sooooo weird! My little brother just got into Daft Punk and all of a sudden, this news appears!
I would have prefered Wendly Carlos working with other people on the music for the movie. Mainly, I was hoping for Wendly Carlos to work with ELO and maybe Eiffel 65 on the music. Heck, I'd approve of Peter Schilling working with her!
Just as long as there are absolutly NO lyrics in the music.order abortion pill http://unclejohnsprojects.com/template/default.aspx?morning-after-pill-price where to buy abortion pill

I can't help but read that as "Transmogrifier 2". Can we expect to see Mr. Boxleitner climbing in and out of a cardboard box changing shape through the film? __________________________

I'm really interested in what we'll see from Comic Con San Diego after hearing word that there will be a teaser clip of things they are doing at the moment. This will be huge. I hope someone has a better quality vid cam thingy this time.

Something I'm curious about, if the footage in this teaser is actually shown in 3D like the first was meant to be, won't any bootleg we get have ghosting on it?

I don't think they'll show the next trailer at Comicon in 3D. It would add to the complexity and expense of the setup. They'd have to set up a special projector and hand out expensive 3-D glasses that people might steal.
Much more likely that they'll stick with 2D for now. Though, as more and more films get released in 3D, I can eventually see all trailers being shown in 3D in the future. Be it at Comicon, or elsewhere.
But, if it was shown in 3D, it would indeed create a double image or "ghost effect" that would make a 2D bootleg recording of it almost unwatchable.

To compute or not to compute that is the question at hand. Tis nobler to compile in C++ or in TASM.

Wasn't there info after last year's Comicon that they had planned to show last year's teaser in 3-D but last minute issues prevented that? If so, I think they'll get things squared away for this year. With TR2N being developed in 3-D, I'm sure they have a spare 3-D projector or two lying around and a gaggle of goggles ready to go. Hopefully 10 projectors. I'm sure they'd release a trailer sooner or later anyway.
