I read the article, and in Olivia's defense, I'd say she said it looks dated. So it was dated, and it looks like the best thing for years. It's ahead of it's time still, the fact that she said anything good about the greatness of the new movie being great is something like... this is the new matrix bitcch.

That's like saying Jimmi Hendrix was-, or Pink Floyd was-dated. get a life.

OK, I'm a fan of the matrix. so you guys are babbling. How many words can I describe that as... one. tripe.

But the praise she gave the new movie is mmm, what's the word, "better than cool". it's "pretty awesome". Substitude- (for your own gratification) "It's the matrix of it's time".

I know there is some example you had waiting to compare Tron's visuals to in your mind right? what would that be? spill it. 1982. der Der der. This is a kid getting a part in a movie, and loving it. Atleast be an aficionado and not a ass face to a great movie we waited 20-something years to watch.

You know, that probably wasn't even her actual opinion. It was more than likely on of many pre-written answers for her to say. Disney obviously wants her to try and sound "cool and hip" to Disney viewers, her fans, and a large majority of the people who obsessively agree with popular opinion. By saying that TRON was "some weird 80's thing", she reflects the opinion of the mass public, and that is that stuff from the 80's is just meh compared to stuff today.

It seems that trying to reflect the mass public's opinions seems to be the most successful form of advertising at the time.

She's in it for the money, and I'm already expecting her to do a really subpar job in the movie.

The opinions are what they are. Just because the said actors may not choose their destiny doesn't mean they are being disingenuous because it's something you share interest in, and need to boast about it more.

You may like or dislike Tron. You are telling ppl the man making tron is a f* moron and the actors are wasting their time. wtf?

You can't change anything about the movie now, and neither can they.

I have no clue who they are in person, neither do you, other than they have rediculous publicity about some show they are on.. I'd leave it alone, because this he said she said sh+t just lookds bad. (making us look bad) You want in on that bro?

Why is this really important if you have no clue what they're working on, nor capable of in this movie?

Jeez, it's like a bunch of kids getting snow plowed for kicks. let it be until there's something to actually work with, because I think if they put the effort to make this now, you should atleast give it the respect it deserves. Not the "gaga fake sh+t" you guys are babbling about.

Like that original article from Variety said: a new Tron game to go with the sequel, was a no-brainer.

And it was like I said before . . . Disney Interactive will have to make another Tron game, whether they want to or not.

Just found this out today,

Disney's "X D" channel will be replacing "Toon Disney" on February 13th.

The reason I'm reporting this here is because that one particular Jim Hill article about the channel mentioned that Disney would use it to "heavily promote TR2N".

EDIT - This is what Jim Hill Media originally said:

Among the productions that are already slated to receive heavy promotion on this new cable channel are "Prince of Persia," "Tr2n," "Pirates of the Caribbean 4" and Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland."

Not sure I'm too thrilled about that.

I don't know what Disney X.D. is so I wiki'd it. If you believe Wiki, "X.D.'s target market will be aimed at boys aged 6 to 14 as a compliment to Disney Channel, which has redirected its own programming strategy towards girls in the same age range."

That kinda scares me. I want the target market for TR2N to be a bit higher than that, considering most of the people who know about and appreciate the original Tron saw it in 1982, who by their very age have more developed tastes and expectations for the sequel. Not saying the target market needs to be 30 and 40 year olds... but maybe at least 16, 17, 18 year olds, so the story and final product can be a bit more serious. I'd hate for Bit to be a pink Pokemon character with a bubbly face on him.

Well, don't forget. The original Tron was also mainly aimed at children. How many kids watched and enjoyed Tron vs. adults who watched and didn't get it?

I think advertising the movie in a way where children will easily find out about it, is a smart move. And if they want to see the movie, they're going to bug their parents and drag them along to see it. Maybe once their parents see the film, they'll like it. If not, it will still count towards the film's box office gross anyway.

Sure, I'm a bit concerned too. They may try to kiddify the film a bit too much. But, I'm holding out hope that the sequel will turn out great.

I wouldn't worry about that too much, just look at Koinsky's other works. Those commercials for Gears and Halo 3 are pretty dark. And in a good way that partially suits the tron universe.

xalener - Pirates 4 has been known about for quite some time now, lol. You're completely correct though, just look at Guitar Hero, lol.

Traahn - Advertising will make it seem like a kiddie movie. There have been so many great movies with such bad advertising that I didn't even wanna see them in the theater. Of course, those were movies that I knew absolutely nothing about beforehand, so the way it was advertised on television made me look upon it in a negative sense. However, I later saw a theatrical trailer and loved it, went and saw that movie, had a great time.

I made no point there whatsoever.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

I sorta have my doubts about that because of a line in Tron that I didn't really understand until I was older. @_@

We're not dealing with binary options here. "Kiddie" is a pretty extreme term when describing entertainment. It should be reserved for things aimed specifically and exclusively at the 4 and under crowd.

In regards to general tone: I have little doubt that the movie will be appropriate for older children. I also suspect that it will be enjoyable for adults. That is what it should be. All Ages. If it caters in one direction or the other, it will be a mistake.

Actually, I find I can enjoy movies aimed at younger children with no problem. It's the "tween" audience I cannot relate to, and if TR2N becomes Hannah Montana in the computer world I may very well have to puke.

I'm sure it'll be fine... but will have my fears until release.

I didn't forget, but considering Tron came out in '82 and that set of viewers is now much older, I just would personally like that factor to be recognized... to a good extent. Not saying I want or need an R rating, but something sophisticated enough to hold my interest and challenge me, without seeming too obviously "kid oriented." It's a hard one to explain, I guess.

In regards to general tone: I have little doubt that the movie will be appropriate for older children. I also suspect that it will be enjoyable for adults. That is what it should be. All Ages. If it caters in one direction or the other, it will be a mistake.
As I've seen with video games, trying to cater to everyone (casual gamer and experienced gamer, young player and old player, console and PC, etc.), or "all ages" as you say, can sometimes (too frequently) lead to a disappointment for me. It takes out some of the creativity, uniqueness and gameplay that I would otherwise enjoy. It's all just personal preference though. I know game makers (and film makers) want to make money, and so if they have to try to appeal to everyone, then I guess it's got to be done (unfortunately, imo... but understandably). I'm not terribly worried about the Disney X.D. thing, but it does make me cringe a little.

There is nothing "kiddie" in the preview.
I agree. I rather enjoyed the concept footage

That's a matter of execution. All Ages and all audiences aren't quite the same thing. And all to often those in charge of the execution miss the distinction. Trying to create something that appeals to all possible audience members rarely works well.

As an example: Tron, the original film, is the very definition of All-Ages. It is a basic tale of heroic fiction, centering on a male archetype. It has love, death, tragedy, action and humor. It also had limited appeal. But that limitation was not by age.

There's no reason something that is all ages should remove creativity or uniqueness, unless it's poorly done. And then it would probably be lacking those qualities regardless of what age group it targeted.order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I don't really agree with that. Yes, adults generally walked away from that film shaking their heads. But I think that had a bit more to do with the generation gap and how it applies to computers, than the actual content of the film.

True, I agree. I can enjoy things "for all ages," sure, especially when executed well. But I should clarify: there's just a higher propensity of me not liking something when it's trying to cater to all ages order abortion pill abortion pill buy online where to buy abortion pill

I agree. Unfortunately, many producers of all ages entertainment don't think they need to put the same efforts that they would into more "mature" forms of entertainment. I think that this habit gives an illusion that all ages material is generally crap. It is, but only because the attitudes of those producing are self fulfilling.
