If it's true, then I'm perfectly okay with it. I loved the storyline in TRON 2.0, and I don't think Lisberger had anything to do with that game, either. John Lasseter is probably one of the greatest people in the film industry, and his involvement in this film more than covers up Steven's dropping out. Plus, John Lasseter did "The Incredibles" (I think), and that film was perfect, IMO.

Still though, Lasseter has only done full CGI movies (unless he did Wall-E, there was some live action parts in that movie), and I would really not like it if there's no live action involvement in the same fasion as seen in the comic con trailer.

Absolutely thrilling to see the new trailer. Everything about it suggests any new sequel will stay loyal to the original Tron aesthetic. I've no doubt it will satisfy old - and new - fans.

I do hope Lisberger has some kind of creative input, as there would have been no Tron in the first place without him, however his directing since Tron (I'll just say Slipstream once) hasn't been so favourable. I also hope Wendy Carlos is comissioned to provide the soundtrack. Roll on Summer 2010.

Best guess is that it was only to prove the point that it could be done, so you keep your best people making the things that are actually going to a theatre.

I was there the first time Steven saw TRON 2.0 the game, and it was finished at that point. They may have asked him questions and gotten a small amount of feedback during Production, but I don't think he had any direct hand in the story for TRON 2.0. I will confirm that with him.

As for TR2N, he is involved. Can't say any more than that. I took him a copy of my archives this past weekeknd and we spent about an hour discussing TR2N. Lots he can't tell me right now, so I've got nothing more to share. Sorry.
