Hello everyone,

I lurk around, more than I post lol. But I assure you I'm a huge fan of the film Tron and the PC game Tron 2.0. I've battled online in Tron 2.0 some so some here may vaguely remember the name "ShadowDragon".

Well I was at Comic Con 2008 and I saw the TR2N footage live first-hand! It was extremely awesome.
At first I didn't recongnize what it was...until the man in a dark blue-greyish body suit and a speed bike riders helmet jumped off a ledge whisked out a metallic rod in front of him and a light-cycled rezzed around him and then hit the ground at full speed, being chased by another new stylized Light Cycle.
They raced and clashed. (I and many many people cheered like it was a full on rock concert.)

The light cycle with
YELLOW-GREEN trace-lines (same color as the Corrupted Programs from Tron 2.0) is very aggressive during the chase/battle. The dive from twisting tracks and speed threw canyons. The Yellow-green cycle seems to vanish, but then abushes the Light-Cycle with the blue trace-lines, and speeds across making it's energy wall. The blue-line cycle hits the yellow-green energy wall and shatters piece fly everywhere and the rider is thrown through the air and then hits the ground sliding, nearly falling to his death, grabs a railing and pulls himself up over the ledge.

The yellow-green trace line video warrior approches the blue-line video warrior.. Inside a room with what looks like full 3-D holographic "virtual room" with a large window out to the digital Computer World city, a man in a white robe is sitting and meditating.

After the Blue-line Light Cycle had shattered there's a close up of his eyes, they open suddenly.
The man now standing approches the virtual window (it's Jeff Bridges, with a trimmed beard wearing a white oriental robe) he looks down on the race/battle and watches calmly with a hint of concern at the duel..)

The yellow-green trace line warrior approaches the other and removes a techno-futuristic CHAKRAM (An East Indian Slicing Ring weapon of Hindu mythos) from his back; the video warrior on the ground pleads with him "what are you doing?! It's just a game! It's just a game!" The chakram welding warrior gloating says "yeah.. Not anymore.." he raises the slicing ring to strike his killing blow and the screen cuts to black..the title made of glowing blue lines fades in the number 2 and then TR and N..to form TR2N. The room screams and cheers.

Observations:

1) I do not think the Disney rep would of shown the clip to the 7000 - 8,000 people filling up Hall H at Comic Con 2008 if it was just a "demo reel/Studio Pitch Clip" giving everyone there the impression that it IS being made if it was somehow "not in production."

2) The "evil" Video Warrior had the same color as the Corruption infected Programs in Tron 2.0 His glow-lines where the same yellow-green color.
I do NOT think it's Clu or Flynn. His face and personality was vicious, and homicidal... not traits typical of either Clu or Flynn.

3) The old, bearded Flynn seemed fairly Zen-like in demeanor, mostly calm, there was NO hint that he was "bad" or "evil" just seemed vaguely concerned and was observing the later half of the light cycle race/battle.

4) I think the suit and helmet is just the common suit worn for Light Cycle Racing and not a typical "everday out-and-about" kind of digital citizen's outfit...

5) The blend of real-life and CGI is so damn seemless I couldn't really tell *what* was CGI animation and what was Real-Life filmed footage. It was that damn good.

6) The face inside the racer helmet *looked good* and not nearly as "holographic" as many have claimed.

I hope you all like my First-Hand viewer/Comic Con's Attendee's report on the TR2N footage shown.

Thanks for the report! Since I haven't played Tron 2.0, I didn't know about that whole yellow-green/corrupted program color scheme thing. Interesting observation about the Hindu symbolism - Cool! I recall on one of the special features of the 20th Anniversary DVD, Steven Lisberger is playing an African instrument with mallets. I wish I could have been there myself. I was about 8-10 rows from the front, as a section of chairs was segregated for "members of the press and studio representatives" kind of thing.

The very fuzzy and blurry bootleg recordings of the TR2N footage are so extremely crappy and do NOT do the footage justice. So people shouldn't make assumptions based on the sh**y bootleg vid IMO.abortion pills online abortion pill online purchase cytotec abortion

The new look and lack of primitives make sense to me.... the original TRON was made back in the 80's, and computers were just gaining popularity, and the computers themselves were simpler than today's computers. Now we have super-fast advanced, sleek machines that integrate into life almost unavoidably. It makes sense that the digital world has reflected these advancements and become the way it is now.

Yeah, and Tron has primitives. The part in the plot where the creation resembles the original computers creators, inside EN511. Now it looks glassy and slow, even the matrix used the right amount of "artifacts" from the digital world. Language is what it is. I completely agree on the generation of new tech. But just making it realistic in CGI doesn't do it. It takes Tron styles. That just looks like a car w/ too much chrome w/ out the primitives.

Looks like I'm going to have to tweak the current site while I'm building the new one hehe... Looks like the forums are starting to show signs of stress!

Sorry for the late greeting. There's been so much activity in the I/O forums lately that I'm a little backed up in reading.

TRON 2.0 is quite a fun ride of a game, isn't it? The first time I played through the single player adventure, I was so glued to my computer, that my wife had to practically drag me away to go to bed. Then I got a little addicted to online multiplayer light cycle for some time after that. Great fun!
