I wonder if Viral sites will play a part in this movie campaign? After the success of the CLOVERFIELD campaign, it seems likely that movie studios will look into this at the very least

You have to assume they will. When Tron 2.0 was coming the website was fairly dynamic for the time. With a movie set inside the internet itself I'm guessing that at the very least sites dealing with net neutrality and as a part of the marketing campaign will appear.

Now we just have to find them.

Hello New Members:

Welcome to the new members first. Second, I've watched that ComicCon footage several times. It is cool when the crowd cheers for Jeff Bridges and I'm glad that he's involved. However, I'm TRYING to stay positive ,and even though this footage was part of the pitch that Joseph Kosinski was presenting to Disney, there's some things I'm concerned about:
1)The music - In my opinion, if you are going to do TRON, it is IMPERATIVE that you have Wendy Carlos. She is to TRON what the Force is to Star Wars - an essential defining element. I'm going to hop on over to her website, drop a line and see what's going on with her in relation to TR2N;
2)The suits - I hope they end up going with the aesthetic I've seen in video footage of the game Tron 2.0;
3)The discs - same as#2; it looked more like a ring;
4)The light cycle crash - hope they go with the old effect where a ring of circles radiates from the impact and pieces of the wreckage fly towards camera;
5)The sky - why is there lightning in a sky inside of a computer?
6)Flynn going evil - will have to watch Apocalypse Now again, as it's been a long time since I've seen that; if this is done right, it could be interesting;
7)The title font - I hope they go back and use the original, solid metallic-looking font with a gradient, instead of the hollow one used at ComicCon;
8)The backgrounds - while I understand that things must evolve, the only part of the background that looked similar to the original one was the last few seconds, where we see the long shot of the yellow light cycle sitting on that "street" with the yellow dividing line.

Nonetheless, I'm excited (cautiously), and it seems like this year, and the next few years (moviewise) may be like 1982 all over again, which was a cool year for movies, if the films are done right. Glad to see Lisberger is still involved and glad to see Jeff Bridges involved.

Or you can just watch it by following that link, but I suggest dowloading it before Disney finds it. This vid is my favourite because the guy cropped it and rotated it so it looks as close to normal as possible (don't worry it gets clearer)

Maybe not appearing in the clip exactly as they appear in the original, but these are elements of the original.

Thanks - I, like everyone else here, just want a good follow-up to the first TRON, so that the newer generations as well as the older ones, will have a sequel that is as mind-blowing as the first film. As we all know, sometimes sequels (as well as this redundant remake trend that Hollywood's been stuck in) can suck horribly - case in point, I heard that "Poltergeist" is being remade - ooooookay, as I'm extremely skeptical of it, and would much rather prefer a sequel. Sorry for being slightly off-topic.

As far as point#5, it seemed like they had the basic background down, but I just wondered about that whole lightning thing, and hope it's explained. I have some theories on it, the more I think about it.

By the way, Traahn, I LOVE your animations. If it was up to me, you'd be working on the TRON sequel. Peace.
