Okay, here's my super quick commercial break review for the movie so far (an hour and a half into the movie).

The product placement is disgusting. The car chase features absolutely nothing but FORD cars. >

Music in general just sucks, both original music and licensed songs.

KITT's new voice is pretty good, IMO.

The writing is good in some places, but bad in other places. It's the same thing with the acting. I like the "Hasslehoff Rip-off" (main lead) dude, but I don't care for the female lead.

Commercial breaks happen in the worst spots. You finally get excited for something in the movie and then "poof!" commercial for more Ford crap.

The camouflage effects are very nice.

Aw, crap! That was today? I forgot about Knight Rider coming up so soon.

I'll still find a way to watch it, but it will probably be a couple of days then before I see it.

But somehow, I kind of figured it wouldn't be that great. At first the initial descriptions of it sounded quite awsome, but then as more details emerged . . . meh.

Watching the commercials, the commercials are breaking the thickest parts of the plots, which pisses me off too.

The part of the show w/ effects is lame.

I agreed w/ a friend, who said it's like Fast Lane, but in a lame way. nice car?!

The plot is made from drinking buddies who knew nothing about Kitt, knight industries, or whatnot. and I just want to shoot my TV if I see another commercial.

The car is less AI than the ppl.

The music is better than the acting, as are the views of California.

Depending with which Cable provider has NBC. Luckily my Cable provider also my ISP over here has it. Sucks big time. I have switched over to my Discovery Mythbusters. Now I am a happy camper. ANd not getting the shakes from the bad show.

I've only seen the first half of it so far. I'll be watching the second half of it tonight. Because I'm not all the way through, I haven' read the recent posts, but have caught a glimpse of the fact that people generally don't like it. To that I say... WHEW! I don't care for it at all!

Why finish watching it when I already don't like what seems to be one great, big commercial for Ford? Why not? I watched the new Bionic Woman, which I totally hated, for several episodes before I ditched that one.

Before even sitting to watch the show, I already didn't expect to like it much. I mean, how can I like a show about a really cool car when the "really cool car" doesn't appeal to me at all? I'm just not a Mustang fan. I don't hate them, but KITT as a Mustang just isn't working for me at all. Bleh!

Impressions on the firs half:

The intro theme started off pretty good... and quickly got so frickin' annoying that I had to jump on the FF button and be rid of it. What the hell was that crap? Is that supposed to be the Knight Rider theme updated to today's "coolness"? Because if I didn't hit that FF button when I did, I was ready to hurl all over the damn living room floor.

The music, in general, that they're using in the show really annoys me. Maybe because I'm an "old guy" or something. It's just not to my liking at all. Dare I say, it sucks and makes the show suck that much more.

The characters are... oh come on, man - can you get any more cliché with the whole hip, happening, trendy, I'm so cool AND professional crap? The police chick is pretty hot. Not hot like I mistook the terminator chick for being hot (what was I thinking on that), but genuinely hot, or at least very attractive to me. But her character starts off trying to be made to look super hot and get the young kiddies all horny in the beach shots? Sorry - that cheesy crap does nothing for me but crack me up and make me wonder if Hollywood is even TRYING anymore. The new "Mike". Yeah - we haven't seen the dashing young good-fighter who gambled too much and owes bad guys lots of money and lives the life of a slacker and has trouble with authority thing a bazillion times before, have we? These days it seems like a prerequisite for any young-crowd show. And this show seems to totally be geared to young guys ONLY. I don't think the original was done like that, even though it had mostly a younger audience. The brilliant daughter and father who don't get along well but now have to work together? Naa - that's totally new too, right? Ok, most shows start off rough around the edges, but these character models are so damn hallow and cookie-cutter to start off with. Blah.

Val Kilmer as the voice of KITT. Honestly, I didn't expect this to bother me, but it did. It just sounded like Val Kilmer talking through the car, not as the car. The illusion was not there at all. They teched up his voice a little here and there, which I thought was cool, but it mostly just sounded like Val talking through the car. Perhaps it is because he has a very recognizable voice AND well known face to go along with it whereas the original voice of KITT (his face) was unknown to most at that point in time.

Plot holes. The whole show has been one big plot hole so far. Not that the original Knight Rider was a solid, plot-holeless show, but it held a much better suspension of believe (for that time) than this thing is. The inventor of KITT runs off in to the woods INSTEAD of escaping in his very powerful and SAFE car that could have easily brought him to safety AND picked up his daughter AND Mike? Oookaaaaaay.

KITT. I don't like the Mustang thing, but aside from that, I don't like that he's not all black. I don't like the stupid sport stripes down him. I don't like his dual-scanners. Actually, in the shape of a Mustang, the dual-scanners seem to work better than a single scanner would, but it looks odd - like eyes.
