Happy Birthday, Mr. Sinistar!

Looks like I'll be saying that a couple more times over the next few days, too!

Happy Birthday, Mr. Sinistar!

MutoidMan should be by at some point with his obligatory b-day song. It ain't a real b-day celebration 'til the song is sung (or typed in this case).

And an early Happy Birthday to YOU NoExcuses

Haven't seen as much of you around The Sector. Glad you still find the time to stop in though. I'm sure life is just getting busy. It happens more and more as you get older.

Wanna know what I looked like at 16?

I had a better image, where I wasn't biting my lip, but couldn't find that one, so the biting my lip Todd Headroom will have to do. Funny thing - back in the 80's, you could walk around with your hair looking like that pretty much any time of the year, not just Halloween. People did all sorts of colorful things with their hair and it was (more or less) just a sign of the times.

I think you're turning seventeen
I think you're turning seventeen
I really think so

And now back to our regularly scheduled program:

Happy Birthday to you
You belong in a zoo
With the monkeys and the donkeys
And the elephants too

Happy Birthday Mr. Sinistar!

And hey...

Happy Birthday to you
You belong in a zoo
With the monkeys and the donkeys
And the elephants too

A slightly early Happy Birthday to you, NoExcuses!

My birthday wish for you both is that neither of you guys get gyped by anyone perpetrating the old 'combined birthday/Christmas gift' scam. I can tell you from experience, it really stinks.

Happy Birthday Max, and Happy Birthday Nikster!

(Look! Cake!)

And thanks to everyone who wished me one, too! But...

Mr. Sinistar Wrote:Turning 17 over here. And NoExcuses is turning 16 on the 8th.
My birthday is actually the 9th! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm getting an unusual present - a vintage 1975 ARP Axxe analogue synthesiser! My dad let me play it for an hour last Sunday just to check that it all worked (after all, it is over 30 years old!), and I sneakily took some pics:

Retro!

So many sliders!

Trying to work out what everything does...

Me looking a little deranged.

Todd - was that your actual hair? Did you dip your head in a bucket of yellow paint?

Ah no! I should have made you another Not-Birthday video, like I did last year! Ah well - it doesn't matter when I make it because it's your Not-Birthday 364 days of the year!

And of course, what would a birthday be without the zoo song? Thanks, MutoidMan!where to buy abortion pill http://blog.bitimpulse.com/template/default.aspx?abortion-types buy abortion pill online

Happy Birthday Nikster!

NoExcuses: Wow, how cool is it to have an analogue synthesizer in such pristine condition? They have a completely different sound from digital synthesizers . . . or, at least, I think so. What an amazing early Birthday present.

TheReelTodd: I dig the Todd Headroom costume! Alas, I never did anything cool like that when I was 16. The coolest thing I ever did like that was when I was about 8 or 9, if I remember right. I bought a Star Wars Stormtrooper costume and modified it to look more like the real thing. The way it came from the store was a pretty pathetic attempt at imitating the look. Only the mask was any good. The rest of the costume was pretty much just plain white. So I added details to it to approximate the look better. It turned out pretty well. Everyone in the neighborhood was impressed.

I can see now where the inspiration for the Weed Killer videos came from. You've had a bit of Max/Weed Killer in you for a long time. I'm glad you decided to share that character with us in your videos. It was fun to watch.

Haaaaaa! Thanks!

Perhaps I'll work it in to a future avatar sometime. Your comment put some ideas in my head.

So what were YOU doing on Halloween 1986?

Nikster Wrote:Today I turn 38 *sigh*

Happy Birthday, Nikster!

You sound a little like me - I don't enjoy getting older each year either. The damn number keeps climbing and I don't want it to! The last cool age you reach is 21... no wait - it's 25. When I turned 25, my car insurance almost became affordable! Every year after that, I just felt older and older. Then I stopped celebrating them after 31. What's the point? They're just a reminder that I'm an old guy getting older. Me? An old guy? How can this be? Why... I still tell fart jokes, make out with my girl (wife) in public, and LOVE getting immersed in a good video game. Now does that sound like an old guy to YOU? NO! Certainly not! Old guy by number (and I don't exactly look young), but I'll be young forever at heart!

Uh... sorry. Started complaining about my own aging during your birthday wishes. Forgive me. This is YOUR time to complain about getting older, not mine.

Whoa! Sweet toy! For something 30 years old, it still looks state-of-the art and techno-slick to me! Of course, "synthesizers" (as we used to call them) always did look cool and modern to me. Perhaps because they really became popular in the late 70's and were in heavy use in the awesome 80's. I had two low-end keyboards I used to play with in the 80's and early 90's. One had a voice sampler, which I used to imitate the stuttering speech patterns of the great Max Headroom with ALL the time! It was long before it could be done on a home computer.
Todd - was that your actual hair? Did you dip your head in a bucket of yellow paint?
Yeah - that's my real hair! In the 80's, brightly colored, usually florescent colored, hairspray was easy to come by during Halloween season. I first shaped my hair like Max's, with the ridges and all, using normal hairspray. Then I emptied THREE cans of florescent yellow hairspray on me. My hair was... well, pretty bullet-proof that day. It didn't exactly wash out easily either. It took the shower water some time to soak through it enough and soften it up. I actually remember much about that day - Halloween day in 1986.

Ah no! I should have made you another Not-Birthday video, like I did last year! Ah well - it doesn't matter when I make it because it's your Not-Birthday 364 days of the year!
I loved my not-birthday video last year! I thought that was mighty cool of you to make! I'd still like a high-res copy of that sometime, if you can manage to get it to me. Today is my not-birthday again, you know... and so is tomorrow and the day after that, and so on.

MutoidMan Wrote:Look at all these birthdays! Heck, I'm turning 37 on the 10th...
Is it too early to wish YOU a happy birthday? I'll re-wish on the 10th, just to make it official. I think I'll save my giant smiley for then... naa, I'd better include it now, just in case I'm busy that day and don't have much Sector time.

Ahh - and there it is, and all its 44x44 pixel glory!

..and of course there's the Lord Jesus Christ's birthday on the 25th!
