Love the added feature of characters, and light cycles in that. Once I get a chance to get my act together over here I'll see where I can get this seems to be excelent. Too bad it was not made for the original xbox as well. Would be nice to add that in there too.

I was debating whether or not to make a forum post about this here on Tron-Sector, because I kind of wanted to keep this project a surprise until it was completely finished. Nothing like a complete surprise out of the blue, to make people smile. Though if you knew where to look, you could have found about this project months ago.

It should have been out much earlier. But . . . as we all know, sometimes things don't go according to plan. We started working on it over a year ago. We did the best we could, without source code. But I still think what we've managed to pull off is fairly impressive.

Actually, that's not the case. If you read the rules it says:

In phase 1, all members and guests of the Mod DB can nominate as many mods as they want to appear in the top 100.

No, they're not. The shine is something that was originally in Raven's Light Cycles colors mod, and it's been adopted for use on all the Light Cycle colors.

We (the team) knew that while some people might like it, others might not. There are probably going to be other things in the mod that people won't like. You can never please everyone. I'm sure we'll be hearing about it when the mod is released. But aside from looking "cool", there is actually another reason behind the decision to make the cycles shiny.

Is there a chance some versions will be "Tron classic - red, yellow, blue" where they don't look so much like plastic objects? Or maybe those are already in the game.

I guess you could say that. In the original unmodified game, there are Light Cycles that look very similar to the ones in the film, if you pick the right colors.

But for what we "taketh away", we also "giveth". The shine might annoy some people, but we also added a couple of tweaks to the Light Cycles to actually bring them closer to the look of the film. And if there's a future update to the mod, we'll try to bring them even closer. Because there are still a couple of small inaccuracies.

EDIT: I just realized that it's possible people might get the impression that we took away the original Light Cycle colors in the mod. No, that's not the case. We simply added more colors, and made all the colors a bit shiny.
