I am the same my dad told me first that he was playing Iron man and I was like "who????" now that I've seen his face I was like "Ooooooh HIM!" At first I was like he'll be no good as Stark but when I saw the trailer they got the perfect guy for the job. And seeing him all done up he DOES look like Stark. Lets just hope they have gotten a decent bad guy, I think there keeping that one hush hush until its closer to release date.

I'm surprised more people didn't know that Jeff Bridges is in Iron Man. I found out several months ago, and it was quite a ZOMG moment.

I'm a sucker for science-fiction that features cyborgs, augmentation, transhumanism, cyberpunk, etc. I prefer more realistic heroes that have to rely on technology and their intelligence for their superpowers, and finding ways to defeat their enemies. Because of that, they are still vulnerable and can make mistakes. Also if their technology fails, they essentially lose their powers and are screwed, and then they have to improvise.

I mean, how cool would it be to have Iron Man and Iron Monger fight, and then Stark's suit is smashed and starts to fail. Now what? Finding his way out of that hole in a creative way, would really add to the entertainment value of the film.

i pointed out that jeff bridges was in iron man in my first post. and the manderin will show up but not in a physical form? iron man is slated to be the first of 3.

I felt the same way. When Superman was "poisoned" by the Kryptonite, I kept thinking big deal . . . someone will remove the Kryptonite and he'll be back to normal. Woo, the drama!

I FINALLY got to watch the trailer for this film on break at work today. I have QT7 on one of my PC's there, which is required to watch it.

From not knowing much about Iron Man, I think the trailer may have just made me a fan. That looked really cool! I did a little reading up about the character of Iron Man on Wikipedia - an interesting character that seems to have been ALL over the place (in terms of what they did with him) in the comics.

These days, I need more than some cool effects and slick action sequences to really enjoy a film. I'm hoping they make the film as intelligent as it is... well, cool looking in the trailer. I'll probably wait to see what people say after it's released next May before I decide to check it out or not. Trailer kicks-but though!
