Oh.. BTW... I have my holidays mixed up.. here it is the 4th, and I just got done watching (for the very first time) 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'. I was avoiding it because I seriously hate musicals but this one was really good.
Be careful today. Don't shoot bottle rockets at other people... |

Happy Independence Day!
It's actually cloudy and raining where I live right now. I guess we'll have to celebrate indoors. I just hope these fireworks can be adjusted not to shoot up higher than the ceilings.

TNBC ROCKS! You really shouldn't shut the door od interest on a film just because it is a musical or because it features characters singing, etc. There are several movies that fall in to the category of musical or musical-lite that are way too cool to be overlooked - even by those who strictly "hate musicals".
Little Shop of Horrors and Corpse Bride are two that instantly come to mind, and of course, TNBC - as you recently discovered. Man - I've GOT to get that on DVD. I can't bring myself to watch my old VHS pan-and-scan version anymore.
Ok, back to Independence Day wishes. Sorry about that.

It's been a holiday tradition for my family every 4th of July to watch the 1997 sci-fi classic, "Independence Day" ROFL.
My dad is blasting Doobie Brothers music through out the house. He's killing me ear drums...lol.abortion pills online http://www.kvicksundscupen.se/template/default.aspx?abortion-questions cytotec abortion

Happy Indy-day!
Rules of the Fourth:
1. Today is the day, that you watch fireworks! (except for me, I live in Burbank and fire warning is high so no fireworks. )
2. Because it's Indy-day you have to listen to endless amount of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, because their indy.
3. No making this Frith of Julie thread like the one from last year, capiche'?

It was fun though... We shot off those morter things. Our grand finally was really cool... and I didn't have to invest in a dime.. lol.. I love having rich friends.. lol..

Actually it was still the 4th of July for everyone. Really, anyone can celebrate the 4th of July. It may only be "Independence Day" to Americans, but it's the 4th of July for all. He he
I'm curious. America has Independence day on July 4. Canada has Canada Day on July 1. Is there anything similar in the UK regardless of the month it falls in?

I suppose there's Bonfire Night on the 5th November, which is when everyone in the country build bonfires and set off fireworks. And have barbecues.
Basically, some time in the 17th century, a group of Catholic conspirators plotted to blow up the Houses of Parliament, but one of the plotters was discovered in the basement of Parliament with a whole load of gunpowder and got hanged. So, every 5th November, for some strange reason, we burn effigies of him on a bonfire. Why? I have no idea. Bonfires, fireworks AND effigies? Now that sounds interesting and fun.

Sounds like a typical fall weekend here in my neck of the woods, but with a few changes. Must have beer, and must have cotton throws/quilts.... and it's good luck to have someone playing classic rock songs on an acoustic guitar.
